1:21's race trim for me too
It's all going to be very close. That's probably what people want but let's hope that there are not too many collisions.

I can go faster than that but not consistently so I stated my times as low 21`s despite 40% of times below 1:21 in 20 laps stint - still too erratic... and I hope not too many disco`s ... or not at all

Thanks for the PM Legzy but these were the passwords I was using. I'll try again tonight.
Offline, I'm into low 1:21s as well with race fuel but on soft tyres. Haven't got into the 1:20s yet.

I have just started the P&G server. It wasn't running Usual practise password required. EDIT: Oops, just read through this thread and it looks like Matt was intending to use his own server? No harm done but it means that the lobby now shows the SROUK server and Matt's both running Westwood.

Hello everyone,
I just found this great site. It's wonderful to see an active PnG3 group here. I've run in Mike Kolar's long running Sunday series over at Race2Play but work conflicts with it now. Besides that, they're getting less than ten in a race right now. Maybe because of summer.
I'd love to join this race. I've set the connection speed to ISDN and connected to the server without being kicked. I practiced this car/track combo a bit and got to 1:33s. I should be able to get below 90 seconds but man this car seems a bit floaty whilst braking.
I am a clean racer over at iRacing. I've an iRating of 2000 and an Av Inc Per Race of 4.11. Usually people hit me. It's not often I hit them.
So can I join in the fun at this late date in your series? Seeing 20 or so vintage cars on the grid would be sweet!
If I can join must I install TeamSpeak? Are we required to communicate passing info to each other? In the iGPFun Spec Racer Ford league I run in over at iRacing we don't allow chat during qualifying or the race but maybe it's different here.
Cheers guys!

No soft tires for Healey, both are hard.

welcome onboard John, always good to see another vintage race fan Teamspeak is purely optional, unless you like hearing Legzys drivvel , and sure you will find the racing close fun and clean on the most part (with the odd exception ) I am awol from this race sadly, as think it will be close action in same spec cars.

The previous server confusion was not me, I don't know what that was about. I did kill the normal server last night and fired up mine. It seems we now have an auto restart facility (Tony) Welcome John. teamspeak is optional, personally I think it may contribute towards discos, just my opinion. No chat during Qual or Race. Ideally no "sorry" or "go left" during the race either. If people chat in the race then Clive will send a radiation source to your house, and irradiate your family Happy Racing

Healey is a snooze fest unless on a small British track and seems out of place on a Canuck/US track Three of the P&G Healey's were specifically built for the Canadian market by BMC Canada (Cars 18, 19 & 20). They also raced at Sebring. It seems that the 4 speed box was preferred over the heavier 6 speed box for race prepared cars.

Oooh goody, so you can provide a backup server as well Mine does about 3.5-4.5 megBytes download, and about 1.5 MegBytes upload. having monitored a race with 22 people, it peaks at around 600 KBytes up, and down is a lot less. so in theory my conn will stand it easily, problem is that it may be variable. Like I said earlier, if it is looking dodgy then we can scamper back to the warm comfort of the normal server in just a few minutes. Oh, I agree with a test race being better, but I am unusually at my house tonight so I can sort things easier.

Am I missing something? I can't find the server. Google says it's 19:29 over in England so it should be up.
I found it easily enough eight hours ago.

Well the start was fun but I just didn't have the pace to keep up. Not wanting to run alone and, especially, risk messing up everyone else while they lap me, I retired after five(?) laps.
I caught the grass on one lap - in T1 I think - slid sideways across the track. My nose clipped someone as he went by and he went off - then Escaped out of his car with suspension damage. I don't imagine our little contact, or his slide in the grass, did that damage so (I hope) his car was already broken before that.
I'll keep my eye on this series and maybe join Season 9 from the beginning. Then again, there is a quite active GPL community here...
Cheers!
JB
