Monza isn`t hard for the tyres. But try yourself: set tyre consumption to 2x and start a 15 minute race. After that you know how the car feels after the 30 min. race. For me soft is ok, but when accelerating out of Lesmo 2 I need to be careful.

Thx, however rear tires are at 40% after 30min.

G25 Kaput, looking at Logitech wheels, Curry’s have G290 in sale £215! Comments please.
Today my steering wheel partially broke. Couldn't shift down with the left shifter. After inspection i saw that the magnet of the magnetic shifters was attached to the steering wheel and not anymore to the shifter.

Dis ambled the the steering wheel and shifter, glued back the magnet with locktite, and problem is solved. Fieuw that was close  Grin

Wauw again great result for me. Didn't thought it would be a fun race because of the problems during training. Wasn't possible to do a fast lap, but didn't make mistake's (exempt two times wide in a row on the 2 chicane's in 1 lap).

Great fight almost for 30mins with Tudor, made some mistakes and was happy that Tudor overtook me. I could follow his lines and coast during braking to save the tires, because i had that much of a tow. With 3/4 laps to go i overtook Tudor after a bad exit from him in Ascari.

With 1.5laps to go the it was the other way around i had a bad exit out of Ascari, however i could out brake Tudor and hold him off in Parabolica. On the straight he was right behind me and i covered the right side, and went two wide in to the first chicane.  oops Sorry for the light rub during braking was going a little left.  oops
Had the right side of the chicane and held Tudor behind me. After that i think he ran out of fuel in Parabolica with the finish line in sight. You should have waited for the train of Pete and Geoff  Grin Grin Grin

What happened with Toni (he was fast during quali)?

Well done to Markus, Frex and Alix on the podium.

I got a bad start and my race went downhill from there. Approaching Ascari on the first lap behind Toni, I either needed to try down the inside or stay behind - in the end I did neither, caught the back of Toni's car to put him on the grass and then off into the gravel. Apologies Toni.

After that I tried to catch the leaders but couldn't get within 5 seconds before dropping behind Toni. I was later in so didn't get chance to estimate fuel usage, I went safe and had 6L left but seemed to drop on a good setup.

Apology accepted Glenn. Couldn't find any rhythm after the incident and then binned it two laps from the end. At least the pace was a bit better this time.

Monza is a track where you can benefit much from the slipstream. So I decided to choose a strategic setup. Instead of focusing on laptimes I made the setup for overtaking. Rear wing lowered (to min) and 5th and 6th gear one tick longer.
At the start Geoff pulled away like a rocket. I was lucky to keep my 3rd place. But on every straight I could close up to the guys in front of me. With a good exit out of parabolica I could overtake Frex  easily. Then started a great fight between Frex and me, we changed positions quite often. Every time I made a mistake he could overtake me, but on the s/f line before the first chicane I could take the lead again. Great battle, thx mate.
We lost Geoff at some point, would have been a great fight with him as well.
Grats to Alix for the 3rd place and all others!
And nice to see new faces again!

Yeah, apologies as I know that cost you a good result.

When I hesitated and braked too late to stay behind but not late enough to try down the inside, moving to the left to try and avoid you made things worse. A nudge square on the back of your car may have pushed you wide of the apex but not affected your race too badly, catching the rear left corner of your car pushed you to the right onto the grass after which you'd have been a passenger and unable to slow down.

Interesting, my main setup changes from default were to remove wing angle, lower rear ride height and reduce rear camber. I don't think I went quite as extreme as you did though on lowering downforce as with none of the qualifying session left to test my changes, I didn't want to loss all effectiveness of the diffuser or struggle in the braking zones with not enough wing. Strangely my fastest lap came when I had no slipstream to benefit from.

Looks like people had some good racing  Cool
I seem to be having issues with my wheel at my house ( i race from two locations)
My other rig has an old G25, and I have done some good races with it, I actually won a GTL race recently  Shocked
When I am at my house I have a Thrustmaster TX, which I have never really liked. but it "should" be better
It seems to have developed some odd qualties. The last couple of events, on R3E and on GTL I have had
the most awesome understeer. I even had the GTL pork at 10% coast diff, and it was still understeering off
I managed to get in Clives way twice in the last event, so I quit. Same here, I could not get the car to turn
at either Lesmo, and was falling further behind, so left. The Spa event went well, and the wheel was fine
So I have reinstalled the drivers, and will experiment with settings, but it's not one game, it seems to be everything.

P.S. PLease don't bother filling in incident reports unless you want some action to be taken. If someone wrongs you
and you feel it was bad then please do fill out an incident report. But if the offender stops and waits for you, or
takes a self imposed stop and go (which is in our rules) then there is no need to do a report. As it means someone
(not me) has to download the replay, and do the court thingy, which is a bit tedious.

I guess Tudor and I had the same problem and ran out of fuel on the last turn however I won the jackpot and Geoff kindly pushed me across the line costing himself 2 place in the process. Thank you Geoff very generous  angel angel

This car is like driving chewing gum  Cheesy

Yep chewing gum is a great analogy, I was thinking that the tyres were made of treacle. Horrible car with no sense of feel or momentum and an engine noise that sounded like the clutch was permanently slipping. I had to check my pedals again after the race to see if my brakes were seized on.

Apart from that, I had a nice battle with Birger who raced very fairly and considerately throughout, at one point even trying to let me through after he accidentally skipped Raggio chicane  Cool I eventually ran out of fuel on last lap going into Parabolica and parked it on the inside  Roll Eyes

I had some VRP spare so used it up in the summer sale buying a couple of tracks and cars. The GTE and 718 GT4 Porsches drive quite nicely but I hadn't driven the Merc until yesterday. Maybe it will be better at a different track  Undecided

Ah, very smart..! I knew something was up as I struggled to keep up even with the benefit of the tow, whereas you (and Geoff) blew past me with ease. I was good in the corners though and all my passes were done on the brakes. However it dawned on me eventually that my only chance to win was to be close behind on the last lap, get a good run out of Ascari so as to be in position for a dive down the inside into the last corner, and then try and hang on til the line. But I made a mistake on the penultimate lap and the gap suddenly grew to about a second, and that was that. Super race though Markus, and congrats for the win. Just a shame as you say that Geoff fell off, could easily have been a 3 (or more!) way fight. Nice to see the grid increasing too. Thanks to all.

The default setup makes the car behave like a brick imo so people who didn't do a lot of setup work probably did not have a fun time. I also dropped the wing to minimum and fiddled with the fast bumps to make riding the kerbs easier. I was still understeering badly through Ascari and the first Lesmo but at least I got it to turn into the chicanes somewhat.

No problem Pete, although I have to admit it was not my first intention. Saw you & GT slowing & went to go between the two of you but the car understeered wide into your car, as I had hit you & brought my car to a near halt I thought the right thing to do was give you a helping hand.

Interesting race, led at the start, made a couple of mistakes which dropped me to 3rd, repassed Frex before running wide in Lesmo 1, gave Frex room in Lesmo 2 but ran into the gravel. Glenn went past, caught & passed him before a spin at Lesmo 2 dropped me behind Alix, Birger & GT, caught & passed them & a slowing Glenn. Then finally had another spin at the first chicane losing 4 places & finished up pushing Pete home. Roll Eyes

Grats to Markus, Frex & Alix. clap clap clap

The default setup has strange diff settings. Lower both values from 80 to 20 percent.
After that the car behaves better.
