No Bob and I use VR too do you use content manager to fire it up? (I do, and I also ticked that grass tweak that the install page recommends - got lush green grass to cut up now with my off’s )

I don't like the sun here, I can't see the track from it.

Is some settings different from default? Apart from time of day setting. I'm 2 seconds faster offline than on the server and brakes seem to work much better offline. I can't believe sun in the eyes is worth 2 seconds.

The server settings are the same they always are - also the sun is nowhere near the horizon when I went on after firing it up, or are you near the end of one of the sessions when this is happening?

I never do offline practice, so I never would have noticed a difference before. It's just this time I did some 20 odd laps before the server was setup, with 1.29.5 best. Then I got online and I barely broke 1.32. I went offline, and again easily went 1.29. That's why I'm wandering about default settings. Maybe the usual server settings are different from default AC settings. Would help in future offline preparations. Maybe there is something in the grip level Fabri mentioned? As far as sunlight, in practice, in some sections of the track I just don't see anything through the dirty windshield. That's why I vote for next sesseion every time I get on the server and it's practice. Qualifying is better but still not like if the time of day is 12:00, which is what I think it was for my offline sessions.

I've reset the server to different times. The grip hasn't been touched, it's the same setting we've used for years and from reading the settings is still far from realistic so can stay.

I've always found a difference between offline and online, with offline being alot quicker, i think the settings tie across either.

Chaps, I'm sorry but I decided not to take part in this fun event. Tomorrow I'll go to find a couple of friends, exploiting the last day in which our government will let us to do such a thing before xMas. Even if I should be at home mandatorily at 22.00 PM (21.00 UK time), because of the curfew, I guess I wouldn't be able to join the race in time for the start.
So I wish the best to every SROUK fellow driver with the hope that 2021 will be better than this!
Have fun chaps!

Qualifying is better but still not like if the time of day is 12:00, which is what I think it was for my offline sessions. I never practice offline, cause I know that there's sensible difference between online and offline grip, especially if you set it on the max level when offline. You can easily notice that during your best lap recorded on the stracker, the grip was at 95.9% => http://stracker.simracing.org.uk:50041/lapdetails?lapid=216774# (look at the "grip level" value). To be honest I never seen that low value on any server, so it's surely something related to server or track settings. In my experience, when you go in practice session online, grip value starts around 98 %. Then it will get better as soon as more drivers starts to turn on the server. During race session that grip level value jump at 100%, so I usually manage to improve my best laptime of about 1 second, if compared to the practice session online with a low level grip. However, that 95,9% it's particularly low level of grip, and to be honest it never happened to me to experience such a low value on the stracker, especially in qualif. session. But I'm just a good observer and I never managed any server on AC, so I don't know how and if this "low grip level" issue can be solved.

I did couple of laps sunday and grip level was 98 but it feel more like 60, tyre temps were ok and so on... Anyway it's slippery for all then but bit more traction would be nice.

I've just gone through the various server files on my pc and for some reason Fuji is lower than the others. This doesn't make sense as I always copy and paste from earlier similar events I've altered the files and restarted the server, we're now back to a start level of 98% and you'll need to do some laps to grip the track up further. For offline practice I've made a point since the 962 season back in 2018 of practising with lower grip and temperatures than you get on servers, it's always served me well as is easier to adjust to more grip than less. Anyway, try it again and you should find yourself with more grip....
