Prototype Potluck Round 10
The 350Kms of Monza

Welcome to the final Round of the Prototype Potluck series - Monza. Will one of our red cars somehow take victory against the remaining 917 jokers?

Due to the frankly ridiculous speeds this will be our 2nd longest race at a whopping 350Kms! (Kimi clocked up 364 at Le Mans in his 917)

Keep in mind the advice from last time regarding driving to your own and your competitors cars strengths and weaknesses and this one should turn out to be quite a close challenge.

Qualifying etiquette
To match most race events of the late 60's we are having a combined 1 hour practice and qualifying.
Due to this the track will contain drivers who are practising and setting up and also drivers who are running a qualifying lap.
If you are on a hot lap please turn your headlights on - and remember to turn them off again once finished.
If you are simply practising or working on setups please keep your headlights off and try not to hold up drivers who are on hot laps if you can avoid it - you'll want them out of your way when it's your own turn to try and qualify. Wink

Please note that the start time has been moved slightly forward from our traditional time - this is to allow the race to finish at a similar time to normal

Practice/Qualifying: 19:00 (60 mins)
Race                  :  20:00 (61 laps)

Cars allowed:

Drivers must either post their car choice here or PM it to me by 18:00(UK time) on Tuesday the 22nd. This is so I can ensure the server has the correct numbers of cars available. You can inform me in advance if you wish to do so.
Drivers who have posted/sent their preference will get priority, so turning up without 'booking' your car could result in your being being removed from the server to make room for someone who has booked. You will then have to rejoin in something that is available whether you have practised in it or not.
You can see my own car choice listed in the Series announcement thread.

Ford GT40
Porsche 908LH

No - all cars and the Track are standard Kunos files. The 917k & 908 will need Porsche pack 3 and the P4 will need the Ferrari pack.

I might have to miss this one,  power is gone away for today and probably tomorrow, but worse internet is down and BT are saying they expect to have it fixed by the 28th!

Yay for mobile internet though, at least I can look at the web but its far too shit out here in the shire to even contemplate racing on.

Fixed now anyway (shows how many people practice ahead of the final round Sad )

i did a handful of laps last night (after spending an hour practising for the other Monza at the weekend  Roll Eyes ) but content manager decided as its winter, Monza should be covered in snow!  Shocked and it was hard to make out the track edges and correct racing line. The circuit looked great in its winter guise but not very useful for quicker times.

Anyone know why my acs.exe file keeps getting deleted ? The first few times i had to keep 're-validating' the install from Steam, which is time consuming. But now its happened so often lately that i keep a spare version of the exe file on my HD to copy over each time. No idea why it keeps getting removed?! Very odd.

Well, lets hope your internet is back up tomorrow Max. Would be good to have you on track for the final round.

My only drive left for this one is the Ford GT.  Oh, and it might be some setting in my SOL, but the track is snowed over. Is that the idea? Or should it be set to something more normal somewhere?

I think you need to change the date in content manager MJ and Stefan. Go to "Drive" and just to the right of the picture of the track you should see the slider for time of day. To the right of that there are three little dots, click on them and a menu opens up where you can choose a specific date. Just choose a date in July and you should have a nice sunny day every time you go to track. That did it for me anyway.

917 for me then please  Smiley

Disabling the custom shader patch worked for me, nice & dry & sunny then.

Thanks GT, (& Geoffers) never knew that, will take a look next time i fire it up  Smiley  I do quite like that it sets the environment to real world conditions most of the time, ie autumnal trees etc but snow is a little extreme  Grin

Think vva is also in a 917 so at least you will have a battle  Smiley i guess its a bit of shame we all used the joker car at different tracks as it spread out the competition somewhat. GT40 feels good here too though, so no complaints as long as i have other cars to race.
