As a quick breather following on from the technical tom-foolery of last week we have something a tad slower - but as we have previously found these are probably more fun due to the fact they provide fantastic racing.

As a new update to Anglesey has been released we're going to use the Coastal layout (In real life I think it's probably the best one due to the Corkscrew like series of corners at the end of the lap - fantastic fun I can assure you).

Sorry it took a while to announce this one, only I was trying to find a car that was well suited to the track.

I still think this is a perfect candidate car for a series due to the great racing, they also move around more than enough to keep the classic fans happy while being modern enough for the 'others' ( Tongue )

Timings:
Practice: 19:30 - 45 mins
Qualifying : 20:15 - 15 mins
Race: 20:30 : 22 laps (~30mins)

Cars allowed:
Toyota GT86 (Kunos stock I think)

Track: Anglesey 2.0

Live Timing: stracker.simracing.org.uk:50041/lapstat

Time of Day Setting: 11:30
Weather: Clear
Start: Standing
Tyre wear: Normal
Fuel consumption: normal

Server track settings:
SESSION_START=98
RANDOMNESS=2
LAP_GAIN=0.007%
SESSION_TRANSFER=80

Damage: 70%

I tried briefly the car since I didn't have the track (RD downloading times are eternal now).
The car is quite gentle but still I think fun with a good setup (sound are meh).

In toyota garage there is also the stock AE86 that is good fun!

I love the AE86, for some reason other people don't though. Huh
The GT86 makes for incredible racing though, admittedly it's not the best when hot lapping

Tried the car with the track.
The car is great fun indeed. Very docile but still you can abuse with left foot and make her turn.
The truck is normal but still drifty with this car.

As mentioned previously guys - if you D/L the tracks early in the morning (Before 10am UK time from experience) then you get decent hi-speed downloads still Wink

I might join but only if nothing else to do to be franck. Don't count me in if ever this car is used in a series. I don't mind the fun it can provide from the moment it's modern, ugly, sounds like mower and has even less personality.  Embarrassed

I am having some issues with my steering wheel, which I have not been able to fix yet. So I guess I am out for a bit. You guys have fun tonight.

What do you have Stefan?
If it's a Thrustmaster and the FFB isn't starting when you load a track; load a track (Any) fully steer in any direction and leave the wheel there.
Then quit back to the game launcher.
The wheel will auto centre then and work properly next time you fire a track up.

This has happened to me once or twice over the last 6-12 months - no idea why but the above method fixes it 100% of the time Smiley

nah, my son wanted to try F1 22 with a wheel instead of his controller and as I have MJ's old CSR Elite with Speed7 pedals it doesn't work on his xbox and installed F1 on my pc. But as it is a Codemasters game I had to set wheel rotation low on the wheel and now my D-pad has given up and I am stuck on the default firmware 270 degrees rotation. Contacted Fanatec already for some help..
Probably ends up in taking the wheel to an electronics repair shop to replace the encoder switch.

I was feeling slow during all sessions even if I improved my times but not that much as I was hoping for. But still good for 3rd place.
My race was quite all alone apart from the first laps, but still car was good fun. I didn't have good feeling with the track tho!

Great track and car (No idea how Maxime can't enjoy something that responsive), although Anglesey is a very different circuit to the one used in the last test this still highlighted how easy it is to pick different lines when fighting your opponents.
It also demonstrated nicely how good this car is as a trainer, there were a few corners that needed an 'odd' approach to carry the most speed - Turn 3 is a perfect example. Enter it flat with a fast change to 4th and you'll understeer off. Enter it in 4th and back off a bit? Understeer again and very slow....
Hold Neutral for an extra half a second while the car rotates and then floor it? Perfect everytime without needing to lift Cool It was also very interesting in the Corkscrew as you held a trail-braking slide through every turn upto the really sharp right hander.

Had some great racing after my 1st lap drive through, only to run out of fuel with 5 laps to go after clearing Fabri for the lead cursing

There'll be an extra fun event squeezed in next week as I haven't had time to do the backroom work on setting up the short Grp C season yet - I don't think you'll complain though Wink

I've just seen (and double checked) the laptimes!
How I've managed to match the fastest lap down to a thousandth of a second in qually and race I really don't know Shocked
