Round 2 of the Group C Fun Trophy

Off to sunny Croatia for a return to the fabulous Grobnik Circuit!
I tested it in the Mazda and the C9 which were a blast, so naturally will be taking the short tail Porsche Undecided

The race will now be occurring at the normal time (see below) as too many people were likely to struggle to turn up in time otherwise

Rules are very simple - you must use each car only once. Up to you where you run it, but you can only do so once!
As per the last time it would be very helpful if people let me know a day or 2 before the event what they intend to run so I can ensure the server has enough of the relevant cars.

We will have a x2 fuel and tire multiplier for this series, so we can at least pretend we're having proper endurance events.

Is this a one off or for the foreseeable future?

It does squeeze things for me, joining around 8pm typically.

I was asked to keep it for the forseable future - but of course the smaller evil is to make 1 or 2 people have a late night Vs 1 or 2 people not actually being able to race!

I can make it, but earlier definitely makes it harder. For sure getting into the practice session will become more difficult...

Undecided on car (edging towards 787 though), so I guess I have to do a little testing this weekend and see  Smiley

i prefer this slightly earlier time of eve personally.

Not sure if i have raced on this track? Maybe once  Huh So bit of a learning curve unlike Barecelona where i could focus on the car. Not sure which i'll take yet, Sauber or 962Short.

We need a Lancia LC2  Cool Amazed there isnt a good mod of that beauty...or is there?

They are about, but not great quality. Some of these drive quite well although physics accuracy likely won't stand scrutiny. Squint your eyes a bit and use them as grid fillers and they're good enough.

Scroll down to the 80's Group C cars near the bottom and follow link to the Patreon page and scroll though...... you don't need to be a patreon to download most of these mods IIRC.

Porky 962 Short plz.

Didn't know this track at all, what a nice roller-coaster ! Overtakings and blue flags could be pretty tough to handle though, we'll need to have eyes in every direction..

There is - it's carp.
The only other semi goods ones are the Ford C100 on RD (Which is in progress but needs a lot of work still - also if he makes it accurate it'll be terribly slow Grin), and the Nissan NP35 also over there.
In the authors own words it's a terrible model that no-in their right mind would add to the game (It actually drives OK but is lacking in accurate physics or setup options).

Aside from them I think the only other Group C I've found that is actually remotely decent is a Toyota 88C-V

That Said I just found a massive project that someone is making covering early Grp C stuff.

Does anybody know anything about this lot? Given that most of those cars have appeared in absolutely nothing else I have to assume they're making them themselves - My only concern is the fact that the physics are intentionally wrong so they can actually race each other (Or simply finish in the case of about half the grid Cheesy )
Haven't down loaded one yet but may take a look if I get time - annoyingly the 80's stuff seems available car by car. So you have to find about 30 separate posts to get the buggers if they prove to be any good Angry

LOL, just spotted GT's post about 2 up - not that great then Roll Eyes Shame

Wow, this is going to be tough, so much different to Barcelona; thats quite easy on the tyres in comparison! I'm not sure how i can be kind to my tyres around here! Just doing a stint will be challenging

Had a go in most of the 80's Grp C's. Ended up deleting most of them again. Some are good, the rest are meh.
Really annoying - but I guess it's what to expect as they'll all R-factor conversions it seems, but not by the original authors.

Yep a shame. I liked some of the C2 cars, not as crazy as their big brothers and good fun to race with the AI. Maybe they'll receive some love and attention in the future.

In other news, RSS have been teasing a new car leading to rumours that it could be the first of a 90's GTP pack  wub
