Moderator's Report

Server replay time: 90s

On lap one, Syd Drake misses his braking point and runs into the back of Brian Kerr, spinning him out. Syd wasn't attemting a passing move, he simply made a mistake and entered the corner too fast to take it cleanly. Drivers are expected to show extra caution on the first lap.

Server replay time: 2240s

Assassino is chasing Mark Jonzo for the final podium spot late in the race. He gets right on his bumper, and pulls to the inside before a right-hander. He doesn't get any overlap under braking, and Mark turns in for the corner. Assassino tries to force his car into a very small gap on the inside. He gets on the power earlier, and gives Mark a nudge, spinning him around. Assassino then waits for Mark to rejoin, accepting responsibility for the contact.

Assassino should have been more cautious here. I'm reducing this to a zero place penalty as he waited for Mark.

Server replay time: 2410s

Syd Drake is chasing down Phil Gilliland's mini late in the race, when he comes around to lap Adam Parle. He tries to out-brake him, but only gets a small amount of overlap. Adam turns in and there is contact.

Syd was a bit over-ambitious here, he wasn't fully alongside before turn-in and wasn't fully under control of the car, locking up badly. However, he comes close to making the move work, so I'm reducing this one to a warning. I also feel Adam could have been a bit more aware of a possible move, although he was entitled to take the racing line.

I won't make this either, for the same reason as Shark. Sad Hadn't done any practice as usual but I know the track from my GPL days.

I might be there, but not 100% yet. I've never even looked at the track yet, just downloaded it.

Still couldn't get on, glad I didn't get any practice in beforehand.  Shame for the championship though Angry censored

That was hilarious!  Lurid slides, crashes, flips, KLM flashing me past when we were fighting for position (I tried to slow down but you just slowed more and I couldn't flash you as I didn't have any lights!)  Cheesy Cheesy Cheesy Shocked

I think it was Will in the other Mustang and we seemed to be having some kind of who can slide the most without crashing - too often - competition.  Grin

Great fun.  Sorry if I got in anyones way in qually where I was initially 5 seconds off the pace until I found my brain.  Then in the race when I parked it up on the armco, then later in the race when I parked in on it's door  Embarrassed Embarrassed Roll Eyes

Grats to anyone who can make it to the finish line...

Too many stupid errors.
Too little fuel.
Stop and go penalty.

I'm really quite annoyed at myself, should have been top 7.

DOH!  Just realised what I did.  I was faster in qually with a full load of fuel - and I had it fuelled for the race .... but in a bid to qually ahead on MJ I emptied some fuel out .... and never put it back in.

Feel free to call me a complete tit (that's the bird - before anyone censors this Wink ).

Yes John - that was fun  Cheesy managed to get some momentum going and got down to 14th i think, and then the frontrunner's came flying through, so i thought i would slow down to let them though.
One glance too many in the rear view mirror and i had missed my braking point on the long strait (just before the double chicane & pits), and wheels went onto the grass - shaved the barrier, and for some reason spun me so i was facing the barrier - weird - everytime i went near a barrier, it seemed to suck me in and spit me out  Angry
Anyway - sorry to Dan, after my spin, i think we ended up colliding - you had no where to go and i was stationary facing the wrong way - hope i didn't ruin it for you too much.
Bit annoyed though cos after all that, i feel i should have finished higher up, but no practice, no set-up =  Tongue Tongue Tongue Tongue

Good fun sliding the Mustang about though - the new sound pack from No-Grip makes it sound so much better  Cool

AWESOME RACE!!!!

I weaseled my way into 10th off the start, and was keeping pace with a group of about 5ish. I passed a white Cortina, and was gaining on a red Alfa, made my way around the Alfa, and we were in a nice little battle untill the second last turn, and I got bumped into the barrier! That spun me but luckily I recovered in time to get back into 11th, made two BONE HEADED mistakes and dropped to 13th, stayed there for a few laps then I had a great battle with a red alfa for 12th. Sorry I spun you Sad you were slowing to much into that downhill turn, and i kissed your rear end, causing you to spin. I was really enjoying our battle, and I'm angry that I ruined it.

I ended up finishing in 11th somehow, and I was pretty much on my own there, 10th was 28 seconds in front, and 12th was about 12 seconds back. For the last quarter of the race I was hoping somone in front of me would spin out so I could have a last push for a higher spot, unfortunatley, they were consistent Sad

One of my best GTL races so far, tons of fun. Nice Job to the top finishers, I don't know how you can maintain those speeds!!!!!

I noticed a few black holes too Psuedo.

I started race 9th or 10th right in the thick of it. The car ahead made a poor start and I could not go anywhere and was swapped and lost a few positons.

Halfway around first lap got a nudge, thought I could control it, but the nudge turned into a big push and I was off into barrier and lights gone, which was not very helpful.

Had a couple of close battles during the race. At that time I seemed to be a good bit quicker than the car ahead. I did my best to hold back for a safe gap, but some of the defending was over the top in my opinion. Very distracting the car ahead moving all over the place.

Both drivers were defending too strongly and even when I was alongside or partially along side, one nearly put me into pit wall the other on the grass on back straight.

I let myself get wound up, concentration went and I ended up making stupid mistakes.

The other thing I've not been liking about GTL, many people leave the pits without even checking behind them.

A fun track on the whole though. Not sure if it's wise to use with the bottomless holes around it. Also I found most nudges on the barrier resulted in a big roll.

Well done all, especially Baracus. You have some pace in this game

Easy done with the acute shortage of time before race....I went out with 4 Ltr in once....2nd lap pits. Roll Eyes

1 slight complaint about tonight...the pit lane limiter is supposed to be used for ALL sessions. That is in the rules....The behaviour of some folk tonight was terrible. I got clobbered and turned round facing the wrong way at the begining of qualifying.....and I hadn't even got in my car yet! still in the parking lot. and again I had people zooming past in the pit lane during qualifying...No respect shown and not within the 'gentlemanly atmosphere' associated with racing here.

Man that was fun again. The Mustang was wonderful here and it was prefectly balanced for dritfs  Grin.

Was happy with my qually between all those Alfa's ( sleep1). Good thing somebody said standing start, as I never had one in GTL IIRC in this league. The power of the Stang was very usefull here as I went from 4th to 1st after T1 Grin. Bara was still all over me as I had to be carefull with 85L of fuel, enough for 2 Alfa's Cheesy. And if you think that was too much for the race...it wasn't Grin

Bara was driving away from me and I saw MJ behind me and I remembered the classic race at Cadwell (where my slowing down caused Simon to overtake MJ in the last lap  Grin).
For 37 laps me and MJ were within 1s from eachother at s/f. He was flying towards me in the corners, but the Tank blew away at the straights.
At one point MJ overtook me in the last corner, just to get blown away at the s/f straight  Tongue. That's why I could afford to leave some gap on the inside  Grin.
With 2 laps to go MJ got spun around and the battle was over  :'(. I then had Steve behind me and I think it was the first time I had him behind me. So when he was close I think my drifts surprised me and there was soem small contact, that just increased my slide and smile  Grin.

Great race again for me...YANKTANKS forverer Grin

Grats Bara
