Slidey madness Cheesy that was good fun Smiley

Thanks largely to JR's setup I managed to quali 5th I think, and finish 4th after a good battle with Baracus that must have lasted a dozen laps Cool also had a weird issue with automatic gears being enabled for some reason, which is why for the first 2 or 3 laps I almost lost it into T1 when I got chucked into 1st gear Sad

It was nice to have all one car so there were no silly speed differences, (Jeff out front being the exeption Tongue Cheesy), and also good to be back driving GTL Grin

Finally managed to get some kind of a clean fight with W. Tony and Will16V (thanks guys!) but then blew it when a TeamOldie car(?) wanted to lap me.. gave him room before the chincane but he overshot chicane. Terribly sorry about this; thought I gave you enough room to get you a clear run for the chicane..

Addendum: I think it was Dan Minton..

Well I really didn't like this car. All through Practice and Qually I hated it.
But by 5 laps into the race... Grin

Sorry to find out Sandor got D/Qed (at least that's what the results before I left the race said), I was looking forward to a fight at the end of the race. Maybe next time. Wink

Unexpected good fun that Smiley

UKGTR duties (its not all fun and games you know) left me joining server in quali and I hadn't any pracci time in this car or track. Found my legs a bit in quali and stuck with it. Despite being really nervous on grid (comes from not knowing what your doing) I made a blinding start only to be slowed by somone making a poor one, thats the third week on the trot Kiss. Then great fun fighting with Jebb (you were warping badly at times for me mate) and Will. Good clean stuff with the odd unavoidable bump for measure. Just how it should be Smiley

Then stuck in no mans land until MJ honed into view for last 10 laps. The wrong gearing selection in setup meant I couldn't really pressure him but I did enough to make it interesting for him Wink. Is sliding around a corners at 90 degress borderline blocking? Hugely impressive and fun to watch MJ.

From where I stood standards were very, very good Afro

What a blast! I had to ease off at the start while we were all bunched up to prevent rear ending someone again.  After about three laps I had Jonzo to contend with for a number of laps, the gap was getting bigger, then I'd make a slight f**k up and the gap would close slightly.  About a third of the way through he had gone completely.  I felt a bit gutted as I think we would have had a good battle up until the end.

It was boring for a bit as Mark Mclean and the group he was in pulled away and there was no one behind me for about 20 seconds.  Late on I unexpectedly came across a side ways Pribeiro, it didn't take him long to recover and did me under braking into the chicane.  For a handful of laps he was just in front of me and then out of the blue we came across Dan.

We passed Dan after his incident and we were pretty close for a while and then the mother of all f**k ups occured when I stupidly hit the huge wall leading to the start finish straight which spun me like a top.  Dan passed and opened up about a 6 second lead on me and I think I closed it back to about two or three seconds at the end.

Excellent stuff that!  No incidents for me after that shocker at Brands.

Grats to podium,  See yous all soon.

Wow that was even better than I'd hoped for. The single make race really worked, I think partly thanks to the wonder that is the E-Type. You couldn't get a much more fun car than that, so drift-able and controllable with a small hint of "my brakes need upgrading".

Had some good close battles with people and had to work really hard to try and make any sort of passing move with the cars so evenly matched.

Well done to Jeff and his stunning pace. I did load his setup, but it was a bit too alien for me so I had to make quite a few adjustments in the end to suit my style better.

Can't believe another season is close to the end now, just the wide open speed demon circuit that is Kyalami.

P.S. Mike, I've heard some lame excuses over the years but, "I lost cause of my sweater" has to rank up there with the best.  Wink Seriously, I know what you mean about the sweaters, I always have to take mine off before I race too. Smiley

Well, after my stupid error on lap 1 it turned into a very nice race!
Dunno how I spun it there on the first lap Sad - must have been too keen to keep with Jeff (as if that was EVER going to happen today anyway) and the car just kept on turnin left in the 'complex'. I should have done a couple of full weight fuel/cold tyre exploratory laps but spent too long chasing the times of Mike and Jeff in qually (awesome pace guys!).

After wrestling myself back up to 4th I had an almightly scrap with Zacari for 3rd - that was really good!! Smiley

Unlucky Mike - I believe you even if these lot don't Wink - when I passed your wreck I thought that was a strange place to crash!!
