Was very happy to get sub 20's, as I didn't think that was possible for me in the Vette. Had a good start and could create a gap. With the events behind me the gap only got bigger and bigger, and I had a 30s lead at my stop. My front tyres were 25 and my rears were....35 . Couldn't believe how much more grip I had after the stop. Before it I was always using opposite lock at corner exit . Great fun tho . Never a dull moment in the Vette . I was about to lap Dave when the circuitlights popped on. That looked great . P.S During qually there were very weird thing going on, mainly cars popping out out of nowhere. I think that had something to do with the skinproblems early on, as the race was fine. Sorry of I hit anybody due to that. On my screen I didn;t hit anybody, but I don't know if I hit an invisible car Great cardiversity, with even a couple of Mercs

I filled up for 19 laps but ran out of fuel on lap 17 (intending to come in on that lap) a couple bends before I made it to the pits! any way of telling how I am doing on fuel in the race in GTLs?
You can look at your fuel meter or you can calculate your fuel usage yourself (hint, hint) Nice ambiance with the sunset turning into the stadium lights... great track/time choice...

Well quite frankly that was one of the worst races I have ever driven. Had to start from the back as when I pitted near the end of qually, MarkJ's name kept flashing (skin prob) so I had to quit & rejoin. Was OK then! Only 4mins left, tried to get in a qually lap, but spun into the barriers After spinning at T1 I made good progress up the field & got to about 11th I think, before a bout of lag got me a S/G. Carried on with tyres starting to go off & pitted on lap 25 as planned. Decided not to change tyres , at that late stage & slithered around vaguely on the track for the last few laps to finish last but one! Basicly my setup was pants, bad understeer until the tyres went & then unable to put the power down. Congrats to the podium finishers. Cya all next time Geoffers

After that it got a bit boring with no one around really. Came in to do my first ever GTL pit stop and the buggers wouldn't service me. Had a couple attempts at reversing up and asking again and finally they gave me some fuel and tyres and I was off again, probably losing 15-20 seconds.
Same with me. Something I'm gonna test next week tho

Congrats to JR, PR, Mike and begrudgingly to Dave "Healey" Gymer Really enjoyed that one. Heh heh, after catching the end of a conversation early on suggesting that you were going to be the fastest Healey I couldn't let you get away with that. I believe my best lap was a couple of tenths faster too - I think I must've used a lot of tyre up doing it though as you were bearing down on me fast at the end there. Monster start and picked up about 4 places. Some good scraps early on, especially with MJ's E-Type and Steve Holmes' Merc. My pitstop went very smoothly. Made a bit of a meal of getting past Psuedo's Alpine, which hadn't yet stopped, then found Steve chasing me down again in his winking 300SL. Knew I couldn't hold him off forever but made a stupid mistake and spun off allowing him past - was amazed SbG's Healey wasn't close enough to sneak through and knuckled down to try and make sure I finished ahead; it worked but only just, I was struggling for rear grip especially at the end. I thought I had mentioned that the E-Types were still a problem in another thread but obviously that got lost somewhere along the way. The skinning instructions have details of what's supposed to be done... some of the cars were working correctly in the previous pack methinks.

I did a complete Jean Alesi. Tried to join server for three or four times, i couldnt due to some skin problems, i believe. Then, tried a last time during qualifiyng session and worked, uffffffff..... No setup and almost no time to qual, even so i did the 6th spot. Had some cool fights with Jeff nahhh not this guy Simon, Dan, Mike and Madd, with lots of fair play. This time i did two equal stints (guess was the very first time i did so, usually i do a very long first one) changed all tires and i was lucky with my final place. Well done Jeff, thanks to all baclmarkers Cheers

Firstly my appologies for the skin pack problems causing grief in qually.....(nearly didn't get in myself) I have absolutely no idea as to how these files have managed to appear again ...the last pack was updated and fixed so this particular bug was elliminated...and all I did for the current pack is add new files to the old pack, so there shouldn't have been a problem. I don't think it is worth making an updated skin pack to fix this problem for this season....so please anybody wishing to take an E-type next week, take a standard skinned one. SBG and myself are currently working on a new skin pack which should totally elliminate ANY problems once and for all. That race was great....the time of day and stadium lighting was nothing less than spectacular...superb. Race itself was reasonably lonely most of the time....stayed out till late (as Dave testifies sorry if I held you up Dave but I was matching my best lap times and didn't want to ease off too much as I was determined to make some places up in my stop. Which I did....went from 19th up to 15th, no fuel and a new set of rubbers saw me in and out in 27seconds At the end of lap 27 I was 12 secs down to car in front and 12 secs up on ADE behind, I was just thinking to myself that I just need to take it steady when I saw my rear end pass my front in turn 5 Got going again ok..just as ADE came sailing passed. Great battle to the end then though...even though I lost the place I'm actually quite happy I spun as those last 5 laps were the most fun all night. Grats to Jeff and podium See ya next week.

I did a complete Jean Alesi. "There's still some fuel left, I'll be able to do another lap... [passes the start/finish line just as the fuel runs out completely] ...oh "

That was great! Equalled my PB in qually of 2:22.9, then ran race fuel and decided on a setup tweak that would help me when the tyres went off (they were going to) but it didn't turn out that way. Really crap start, but made good use of the Vette's muscle to quickly pick up 2 spots and start closing on the top 4. Passed Simon first, then pribero as we passed lap 10 or so Then the tyres went off by lap 15 I was slithering about trying to keep pribero behind, only the Vette's straight line speed was saving me but a mistake in the slower sections would have lost me the place, not much steering, little traction, sideways out of the slow stuff and even the flat kink in the back straight was getting interesting Thankfully he pitted first and took some pressure off! I soldiered on to lap 20 then made my stop. Faffed around for a few seconds, making sure I was putting in enough fuel and came out 5th! One car hadn't stopped yet, so that was 4th. Then set about chasing down Simon. I didn't want to push too hard and use up the tyres in 5 laps, but I was chipping away and now that it was dark, the tyres were not going off! I had good grip right up to the end. I had closed right up to Simon when his car got launched, very unlucky, I knew I would be able to pass on a straight anyway. 3rd place, very happy with that, enjoyed the race into the night too, excellent time choice Congrats to Ruskus and pribero!

Grats to the sharp end, those Corvettes looked and sounded awesome and cheers again to "da management". Have to echo the feedback on the time/ track combo. Lighting change was awesome for atmosphere...took me by surprise and for a split second I thought I was going to need the receipt for my new graphics card. Spanking it about in the Alpine turned out to be a lot of fun, lost count of the overtakes but there was definitely no shortage of action. Anyway despite finishing a lowly 16th , really enjoyed the racing so cheers all. Shame there were a few incidents along the way but as I was both the victim and the offender (sorry Martin!) at points, can't complain. In any case, a shambolic pitstop(s) meant my hopes of catching JR were probably a tad unrealistic Martin, fair play for some good close racing - GTL at its best, handling Vs. power . I don't know how I kept managing to find you at different points but there seemed to be a red and yellow 250 in view for most of the race lol. Nice one Tony "Ron Dennis" Wiltshire for an excellent qually position, a real shame you got punted but well done for bringing it home, keeping things organised and explaining pit stop procedures to me lol We have a foundation to build on Will, got to take my hat off for some serious hussling of that Shelby, very entertaining. Apparently it can steer in the same direction its travelling but I didn't see any evidence of that. Next stop for the circus...Hungary

Do you have a Logitech G15 keyboard? If so, you can use the G-Racer plugin for it and have information displays shown on the keyboards screen including rpm, fuel, lap no., position, oil & water temp and tyre temps. Works in GTR2 as well, I've just bought one and it's most useful
