Moderator's Report

Server replay time: 48s

Psuedo's wheelspin during the start allows both Mr Oily and Geoffers1 to drag up alongside, and Psuedo - who has nearly a full car's width of tarmac to his right - drifts left into Mr Oily, who has nowhere to go. Psuedo's car slows as the result of events ahead, and Tony behind makes very light contact with the back of Psuedo's car. Unfortunately, as Psuedo is leaning on the back right corner of Mr Oily, this is enough to turn the latter across the front of the former.

We see this as a racing incident and the inevitable result of running standing start off a relatively tight grid with powerful cars.

  • Racing incident

Server replay time: 122s

Pseudo brakes a little earlier than those in front into chicane which is eminently sensible given its lap one. Sandor brakes at normal point, even perhaps a little too late, and pokes his nose inside Pseudo as he turns in which spins him out.

This is another incident where a driver didn't give themselves time to react. First laps with cold brakes and tyres always throw up some tricky moments so we all should give ourselves the time to adjust if needed.

  • Sandor M (Sandor Mooijekind)penalty — Rear end shunt — 1 place lost
For advice only - unreported by victim, so penalty disregarded

I was happy with my quail being first non GT40/Cobra  Smiley
But I knew my setup was crap and was about to get worse with addition of 30 laps of fuel. To many mistakes and in the wrong car to get a good result…I was finally bumped off the track by guess what – yep you guess it! a GT40   Wink

Sorry to hear about Steve’s electrical issues.

Grats to podium in advance – (my fingers crossed for Baracus the other Daytona driver)

Settled in around 9th I think only to get a hefty tap on my rear from somebody trying to overtake me on the entry to the chicane  Huh...that spun me round the wrong way onto the grass and I rejoined second to last. Red mist was showing though and I was overdriving and ended up spinning a couple of times so just quit.

Sorry Psuedo, That must have been me. I didn't try to overtake you but misjudged the space in that corner.
So , I guess that is a penalty for me :'(

Worst race ever. Tried to get out of everybody's way, but didn't work every time.
Looks like the Gentlemen Drivers are going to get some penalty points...  Sad

Gutted for you Steve (prolly the class of the field :'() and PR who had gremlins for the 2nd night on the trot I think.

It ain't gonna help you gents none, but thats the best/most intense race of the season for me. Brilliant stuff battling the very well driven GT's of Ade, Geoffers and Bernie especially. Felt like I was blocking on back straight with those little flicks, but great pass there, twice Grin, Bernie. Took all my skill to avoid incidents and your chaps were more than my equal in that beast.

Gotta say sorry to Sandor but I was suffering from a spot of GT40 fever when I came up to lap you. Flashing my lights was rude, even though I had to get past quickly being hounded, so I apologise.

Congrats to Blunder the new Jr Wink. Be a shame not to use the GT40 again, even watching/hearing them was ace.

Was expecting to fight the TVR alot more, but it was incredibly tame and quite enjoyable to drive.

The ultimate thing that killed me today was my broken throttle pedal - only getting 95% full throttle when I'm lucky really showed on the straights as GT40s were blowing past me (sorry if I couldn't move out of your way quick enough Sad )

I was losing so much blood to my brain on the start because of how I was entering the 1st corner. I had a great start and the Torque of that little TVR blew me up into around 12-10th area into T1, however I was going into T1 wedged in between a Cobra, and Bara's Daytona - I was expecting the worst seeing the pack in front of me dangle around, being rubbed between two monsters, and the unknowing dread of being clipped in the rear end. So as I was gliding around T1 with all that Gas I found the TVR wanted to pretend to be an Elan and I came out battling Bara for 11th or 10th. Was holding well for 3 or 4 laps then I guffed it into the grass and lost some places down to 20th. Faught my way back and stayed extremley consistent for the TVR with only 2 more minor mishaps and finished in 13th i think. Had not so much "Battles" but "who could go the longest without making a mistake"s with Mark Jonzo who looked like he was having a hard time in his nicely painted GT40, and Sandor who was putting some pressure on my backend for quite a few off and on laps.

That race seemed to go by super fast, and the TVR tyres were quite stellar up untill the last 2, then I started Tokyo Drifting a couple turns. Was releived to see the end of the race, and I joined a pretty face in the stands as I jumped the fence and caught on fire.

Good Race all, it will be exciting now to see podiums that we're in the AR (After Ruskus) era of GTL Cheesy

Having driven that Cobra I can see that Ruskus was right...They're bloody brilliant! Grin

I think there was some contact between me and a Daytona (one of the Poodles) on Lap 1, sorry about that. Embarrassed

Things started to get interesting around lap 20 when my tires went. Oversteer constantly. Shocked
Definitely worth it though, and I'll be driving the Cobra again next chance I get. Grin

Unbelievable bad luck Steve, you were really motoring.

Had a great race with SBG holding me off in the Cobra - great stuff mate.
Seemed like everytime I overtook you I'd run off into the gravel on the very next lap - one of the most frustrating and at the same time enjoyable races i've had for a long time.

In my dreams buddy!?
Obviously I am over the moon to win but more because of others wows!
Drove consistently until 2nd and 3rd caught me up and I lost my head and went straight on at the first corner, all my own fault!
Luckily rejoined quite quickly with no damage so continued!
Sorry to hear about Steve, he was way faster than me as was Mark ! I think Mark had a small incident while leading giving me a 5 second lead with 5 laps to go!?
Tyres were going off but got over the line by about a car length!
Again, Mark should have had that also he was also way quicker than me!

Great racing all!

Mr Drake, you had a tough race.

But you had the good manners to allow me back past you after our "bump". I just wanted to say a thank you and that others should take a good hard look at their race "manners".
Because not everyone would have done that and I believe it's a point that's been overlooked here for too long.
If you cause another driver to lose a place you should slow and allow them to re-take the place they lost.
Rant over.

Mr_Oily "the papers want to know who's shirt's you wear". Great race guy, keep it up. Respect.

Organisers. Goodwood should be compulsory ever season. Never been a bad race here no matter what the car choice. And now we ought to have a GT40 spec race, eh?

You may have a point there Tony. Waiting after an incident should be the norm and, as an apology, it goes a long way. There were clearly some incidents last night and we hope some reports follow. We do not want to issue penalties but the main point of race moderation, for me, is to educate and highlight were some are going wrong so they can rectify their driving. Remember, you can make it clear that you don't want any penalties to be issued as we appreciate the present "club" like atmosphere in GTL Smiley

Having said that, I saw a big improvement in quali etiquette last night. Everyone was doing their best for others on their fast lap, as it should be Smiley
