Moderator's Report

Server replay time: 1730s

Matt is lapping Racepace and appears to be undecided as to which side to pass on. Matt seems to change his mind, starting on the left side then moving over to pass down the right side.
Racepace seems to be watching his mirrors and it looks like he reacted to Matt at first appearing to be passing on the left so moves slightly to the right.
This is just a racing incident unfortunately caused by hesitation and a mix up between the drivers as to which side the pass was being made

  • Racing incident

Server replay time: 2318s

Last lap and Martin got good overlap on spanner approaching the final hairpin. Spanner didn't realise Martin was there and turned in to the apex making contact and forcing Martin to slow.
After the contact, spanner carried on to finish ahead of Martin.

Although Spanner states he didn't know Martin was so close, the contact made would have been felt and IMO spanner should have then waited for Martin to resume. Therefor I am awarding spanner a 1 place penalty.

Great race with Steve was awsome slicing through the back markers together, Left braking a liitle bit too late going into the hairpin for the final time and went off, then didnt know what button was neutral so couldnt get reverse.
Watched Bara and a few others go past in my mirror and wept  :'(
Cheers for the great chase Steve and grats on win and rest of podium.
Cheers

It's called 'taking it easy on the first lap' Dave. After several disastrous standing starts we've been repeatedly implored not to make a mad dash for the first corner. That's why you've found it easy to burn us all off at the start in the last couple of races.

Well what's the point of standing starts then if everyone is just going to creep off the line 2 seconds after the start? Huh You might as well go back to rolling starts and have some heat in tyres and brakes.

Results and Replay in

The idea is to pay extra care and attention and be very cautious at the start due to the many accidents and cases of over driving off the line...however...you can still do that quickly as Dave does.....how many start line incidents/accidents or errors have you had Dave? what...none.  Wink Grin

Its not the counting down its when the exact time you can go without jumping the start Grin. I try and go on the word 'Go'

An amazing time in qualy put me 5th with half the session to go but ended up dropping to 6th but still bloody amazing! However my lack of extended running in the Aston showed as after the first 10 laps or so my times dropped off alot and towards the end it was a struggle keeping it on the track. Managed to keep Ade behind me for a while, hope i wasnt too lairy! but I fell off, letting him through. Bara must have fell off as he rejoined behind me for a while but messed the hairpin up so dropped back again. Just tried to concentrate for the whole race on putting the laps in and trying not to drop back too far.

Then realised that i wasnt going to make the finish based on an earlier calc and then saw Steve coming through in 1st so tried to let him through before the line but I just managed to get round the last lap with the display showing 0 litres!

Cant believe that was 40 mins! That was hard work  sweatdrop

p.s. hope I didn't take Bara with me :'(

Unfortunately, yep but no worries. I really didn't deserve 2nd place today - I made far too many mistakes on my own.

Had a good start and even challenged for P2 on 2nd lap but outbraked myself and went on the grass and down to P7 I think... and then all my mistakes started! Very tricky track to be consistent on but I liked it - just wish i'd practiced a bit more b4 hand! Had some good battles with spanner and sbg (until he discod!) so a fun race Smiley

Grats to Steve on a fine win and major unlucky to Dan. Like I say I didn't deserve your place!

Mostly a fun race marred somewhat by
1: Had a good battle in the pipe with SBG until he discoed :-(
2: Had a "misunderstanding" with Racepace one of the times I was lapping him and
got pushed off into the barriers/spun, no serious damage, but it let Bara by without
having the pleasure of fighting him off

I have learned how to get the Aston sort of off the line, still painfully slow
but at least the whole field didn't get past this time! was surprised that I was
able to more or less keep up, and when they were slowing each other fighting,
actually catch Dan and Steve now and then. until we came upon traffic.
Then they made a better job of getting through than I did, and I started to
lose them a bit. passed SBG when he went off early on in hairpin, but he
was matching my pace closely, shame, would have been an excellent battle.

Managed to more or less keep Dan 4 secs in front and Ade? 4 secs behind
for a while, then wow it was lap 40! made some effort to catch Bara
might have gained a bit, but not enough to challenge, Dan went off at hairpin
on the last? lap so I lucked 3rd back.

Well my race was crappy for the most part, but at least the track is better than Tilke's. In fairness, a stern punch in the testicles is better than racing a Tilke track. Grin

That was an awesome race Dan, always exciting to battle in such a clean fair way, there were several times I lost momentum you could have had an optimistic look but you're a gent.  You were certainly significantly faster than me early on, at least until my car got looser and I could stay on the gas more, and I think I was about the same pace then. Epic fight, can't believe you ran off on the final corner, cruel luck.  Sad

And Martin.  Huh  I was cursing at the time, the two laps behind you trying to lap you cost me the small cushion I'd built up over Dan, had him right on my tailpipe for the final few laps instead of being able to drive smoothly to the end.  I must admit to madly flashing my lights which I wouldn't normally do, bad manners.   Wink  But no harm done in the end.

Excellent track for this kind of races.
Started 12th, at first lap before the hairpin i was hit and ended on the left wall, dropped to 22th. whistling
Then, was driving like mad to recover places. I want to thank a few drivers that during my recovering from the back, make it more easy for me without trying to hold the place. That was trully kind. thumbup1
BTW, for those who make it easy and for the backmarkers which did a good job again, i was pressing
my headlights key to thank you all, but my contact with the wall broke my lamps  hammer i could´nt
flash them.
Congrats Steve.  I Am Not Worthy
Well done Baracus and Matt for podium aswell.  Wink

Cheers

Found I was equally good/bad in the Healey, DB4 & F250 here in practice with nothing to choose between them. I reckon that means the admins got it spot on with the car choice here  Cool Decided to stick with the Fezza that served me so averagely @Donnington.

Qualifying was tough, mainly due to how long you had to wait sometimes to join the track without impeding cars coming down the home straight, or vice versa.

Started 12th, at first lap before the hairpin i was hit and ended on the left wall, dropped to 22th.
whistling Sorry Pribeiro, that was er... me.  whistling
I'd managed to get a good start, made up a couple of places off the line & round the 1st bend. I was then tootling along the back straight quite happy. Then approaching the hairpin with the crowds of cars around I wasn't traveling as fast as normal & broke early to be safe. Quickly realised I was going to stop about 100m short of the turn so released my brakes to coast briefly. Reapplied the brakes & the car just didn't stop as I expected. Saw I'd bumped you right off track & with the assistance of someone coming in the back of me I swiftly joined you in the wall. Couldn't see you rejoin so just waited till I was dead last. I was glad to see you worked your way up most of the grid by the end. Sorry once again, I gave myself 10 lashings with a horse whip... & then a drive through as punishment.

Spent the rest of the race doing what I could to catch people with my car damaged front end & back. Had Spadowski in my sights for the last 12 laps or so & was closing the gap with each lap but despite getting right up on him, he just didn't give me the chance to make my move. :'(

Still a good race & met Martin in the pub afterwards for a "couple" of beers to debrief & recover. drool yes

Hi Legzy, TBW i didn´t realize it was you, as i was concentrating my eyes on the guys in front (didnt saw the replay yet), but please dont punish yourself with a stop&go next time (if you hitt me again)  Grin
because it was unintentional. I saw you at the back also, but i thought you was hitt also or lost it.

Oh my oh my oh my! I'm really sorry Steve.
I was racing Syd Drake for position,in another Red Ferrari a few lap earlier but he had dropped back a bit. I then see what I believe to be Syd again so drove as defensively as possible.
My brain must have been in snail mode cos I couldn't figure out why Syd! ( you ) was flashing!?  I am a complete a$$ !? Was cursing myself big time when i realised, and was very relieved to see the mighty minton had not got past you. Phew!

In the light of day, my team mate Legzy informs me that I have to set something up to tell me I am being lapped!? I have just blissfully been relying on looking back! Rookie mistake after 2 years of racing! Guess I'm just not used to being lapped!

Apologies again Steve
