Well done to Dan for the win, and Oily for 3rd. I just made to many silly errors, changed down too early a couple of times and just too hard on the brakes once meant that I was getting a hiding from Oily from most of the race! , the championship for me is now at an end as Le Mans is when I'll be working so its up to SBG or Pribeiro to go for it tbh, :'( . Hopefully RVS will get the team championship however. Thanks to all the back markers, very polite and aware.

The track change probably didn't help. Having the choices so open, there's bound to be one or two favourites that most people go with. That's the nature of it. Just like when I used to race in a GPL league. 99% of people went either Cooper or Eagle. It wasn't fast and killer, or slow and crap. They were the middle ground.
Had it not been so hopelessly outclassed, I was going to go Alpine, but when I was told it was a good two seconds slower than the Elan, in a points paying championship, what's the bloody point? Especially when I have a team I'm trying to get points for.
Just like Aida. The most fun car was the Abarth by far. But it's hopelessly slow, so most people will go with a compromise of speed and handling, because if they go the route they want, they will most likely either crash, or be completely off the pace.

Maybe it's an idea to ban the 2 most favourite cars ? Most of the time you already know what cars that are. Then people are forced to take different cars than usual and we probably end up with more different cars
The race itself was reasonable. Ended up hitting Tibs in the first corner when his car was going from left to right and back . This caused him to spin and waited for him. Started completely from the back and had some nice fights with Alex and Bill in the first section of the race. After being lapped by the first group I decided to follow Phil who lapped me and noticed that I could keep up his pace.
It did't gain me any place it was a good practice for me , following someone else for a long time.
See you all next week.

I don´t think here are people who are aiming for driving nicely at the back in races, everyone of us likes to be in the front and some cars are so slow it is obvious no one wants to pick them. On the other hand all you aliens, there´s a challenge for you who are really quick, to prove that one can be on top with the Singer sewing machine too!
I had my moments too, once I was tightening the screws on my wheel when it got loose while driving, that was fun. Then I hit Bill when he was trying to get out of my way, sorry, tyres were so worn I couldn´t stop to avoid the bump. My first mistake was that I hadn´t mapped a button to change the LCD to see what lap was I in, so had to guess my pitstop, drove too far and had to reverse to my pit area to activate the screen. Otherwise a fun race, thanks to all!

Fair play to PR and Steve I think this lack of imagination by the majority, me included, is more than partly due to the in balance in the GTC65 class. Obviously there are two cars that stand out and it wasn't much of a suprise that it was Cobra/Elan fest last night, no bad thing in my opinion. I'm positive there will be a wider choice next week but maybe we should split the GTC class for next season. The interesting thing there is 28 entrants The present format is clearly popular ?

I think very restricted car choices is the way to go. Like you say, many want variety, but when it comes down to it, most of them will always pick the fastest car, and not contribute to a variety on the grid. It will also make your work easier, as some combo's are already proven worthy, so the need for all the testing gets less. Also restricted car choices gives closer, but also safer racing. Characteristics will be equal in braking, acceleratioon etc, so less surprises etc.

Morning guys, Have to admit that as on previous posts here! Only real choice for me was the Elan, it was an Enduro so I have to take something I am consistent and preferreably not too slow in! All other options were a none starter for me so as far as I was concerned it was a one car race anyway! Look at the results, the aliens took the Cobra everyone else bar as few brave soles picked the Elan. I would love to race something more 'interesting' but with points at stake it's hobsons choice The gap from a low powered well handling car to a heavy weight, high powered tyre eating monster is just too great for the none aliens most times! I am however getting the hang of the Falcon slowly so I guess all of us are improving with time! As to the race, I had my force feedback click off as the race started! no idea why!? which made it a challenge! Had a great Cobra vs Elan race with API, absolutely classic, he was faster on the straights, I was faster round the corners, lap after lap until inevitably his tyres were getting tyred! ( Excuse the pun ! ) and I pulled away! Went into my pit stop, planning to just take on a litre of fuel but for some reason the cursor, wasn't working so that meant new tyres and out! frustrating cos the 30 odd seconds I lost would have given me another place! Thanks all, especially the admins! M.

You may recalll that I actually asked for the Lotus to be banned. Sure limit car choice but do so by restricting the most popular choices. I have deliberately been choosing cars this season that I would not normally choose just to make my overall experience of GTL racing more complete. If it helps, when I was in MARA (I sound like Uncle Albert in Only fools.......duing the war etc) they reserved certain cars for different classes of drivers. Worked well there.
As a add-on thought. I would like to see seperate classes racing together and having class winners.

Regarding the car choice the only way to get people to pick uncompetitive cars is to have classes inside a class, although this is mostly fun ,people still want to be competitive theres no point racing a car when theres no chance of actually competing . Take the BTCC of the 80's when they had A,B.C.D class ,remember John Cleland winning the title in 1989 in a class D 200 bhp 2 lt astra against all the 550 bhp Rs500,s! So a class D car would get the same points as a class A car for a class win. Obviously this would be a lot more work for the modders and not really viable .

Another one who made a mess of his pitstop. Pushed too hard turning into pitlane & went across the grass, missed the barriers & carried on onto the S/F straight & had to do another lap . Pleased to be the first Elan home, although I couldn't stay with Ossie's similar car in the early stages. We were quite close for many laps though, snapping at the heels of the slower Cobras, until I ran off track at the last corner & lost several seconds. Everyone ahead pitted around half distance & I inheritted the lead for 2 or 3 laps until Dan caught me & blasted past followed by Matt & Mr Oily. Pitted late & just put fuel in which dropped me to 6th. I was gaining on Ginsters & Dyno at the end but needed another 2 or 3 laps. Congrats to Dan, Matt & Mr Oily. With a points system people will always choose the car they feel the have the best chance of doing well in. Maybe a sort of points coefficient could be used where you would score say double or triple points if you use a slower car. Just my thoughts. Cya all next time Geoffers

Me too, inside GTC-65 cars we can have 4 separate classes.

A very sense alternative, i believe we once did something similar, not sure tho.
