Great track/car combination match up here. I wish we did more TC-65 races.  whistling

Having said that, the race didn't really live up to my expectations in the end (due entirely to my own poor driving/concentration).
Overtook Dyno in the 1st or 2nd lap & slowly eeked out a comfort gap. Was hanging onto the back of Tibs & the other guys in the moving road block fight for the 1st half of the race, then flung myself off track which allowed a few people through, caught Mooijekind & Alex back up, & was hoping to lock horns for the remaining laps... threw myself off the track again. Worked hard again, managed to catch Mooijekind  again, but he went off (spectacularly) in the chicane just as I was getting within distance to race. Pushed on but it took a good while to catch Alex again & stupidly threw myself off track again!!!   Embarrassed Lips Sealed :'( Angry Roll Eyes surrender no

So by the end of the race, I finished in the same position I qualified (one place outside the points) having overtaken one car & not been overtaken by anyone when I wasn't 'parked up' all race.

Damage limitation for me, like sbg not a track I can get to grips with, I do best on fast corners, these slow ones here hurt, I'm so lumpen through them, as Oily can now confirm.   Wink  Intense racing mate, I really feel for you, I suspect you may have had the pace to win this one, but you had the bad luck to get stuck behind a slower car that was determined not to give the place up, it's the championship ya know.  Grin

Massive credit to you for avoiding me as I lumbered through some of those slow corners, I could see you having to take evasive as I braked earlier and apexed slower but bottled you up nicely, you must have been going mad trying to work out where to get by.

Really struggled to get into this track, couldn't get within a second of my pace in the fun race 3 months back both times I practiced, but I guess the adrenaline of the race meet kicks in and I found some speed, although my pace was really only good enough for 4th, flattered by one or two abnormally quick laps, the rest were much slower.

Grats to Dan and Bara, looked like fun from a few seconds back.  Smiley

Well at least Snetterton is a track more to my liking, but I'm gonna have to take the 906 and I've never been hugely quick in the 76ers, lots of practice for me, just 6 points in it Dan, with Bara still in with a chance.  Exciting.  Grin

Hey not at all Steve, awesome fun running nose to tail, couldn't fit a "waffer thin mint" in the gap at times, bits of that replay will be well worth a look  Grin

Obviously it would have been nice to make a move stick but it wasn't to be, I didn't want to risk taking you out with a half chance so was hoping to harrass the hell out of you ion the off-chance you'd drop a wheel off but you got a great start and drove really well throughout. Quite a few times I found myself overdriving, lawn mowing, barrier bashing you name it lol. Some valuable lessons learned from that one me thinks - but really well done, 25 laps went by in the blink of an eye!

Grats Minton, that was some lap in qually, and to Bara, really nice to see your connection holding out, was hoping we might end up in a three way grandstand finish but I think that may have been optimistic  Grin

Thanks lappees, always tricky around here but absolutely no issues at all and hopefully your own races stayed intact.

Brilliant to see plenty of green ones in the field, and some great times there Tibs, truly the Mini specialist  Grin

Next!

Nothing much to say....a first few laps with close racing with Martin, a good dice
for some laps with  Geoffers and two places conquered, not bad.
Not one of my favourite tracks honestly.
Cheers

Busy week so only managed an hour of practice before Thursday!
Would have loved to have taken the Falcon like last year but lack of time meant I was way off pace.  Sad
Quickly got into the Cortina and managed a 1.39 ? Got a super set up from Legzy ( Thanks buddy ) and then managed a 1.38.3 and was pleased with that!  Smiley
Went into Quali and stuck in a 1.36.5 ! Wow, can't understand where that came from! but am not complaining!  Smiley
Started in 6th, pribeiro got past me before the first corner and i was 7th then for the hole rest of the race!
Hung onto pribeiro and geoffers for a good few laps but then slowly dropped back due to inconsistency!
Loved seeing the rest of the field dissappear behind sbg's mobile chicane!  Grin
Took me back to last year when we had the same battles!  Grin Actually I think it was 2 Falcons behind each other last year that did the same damage!  Grin
Shame i didn't have time to get used to the Falcon again, that would have been really fun!

Oh, must hold up a 5 and a 9, (like the ice skating) for Bill's marvelous tripple salco with 7 1/2 twists in the tuck position, right in front of me ! about a third through the race!
Very entertaining!!!   lol

( Sorry to see it was the end of your race buddy but you did make me chuckle! )

We must do an all Falcon event around here some time, had a huge grin on my face throwing it about in practice but could just never get it up to Cortina pace, that and I could only get two good laps before the tires were fried lol  Grin

Happy with my race result, first time I've finished a race at Cadwell without any major mishaps.

Struggled in qually to break 1.37 until I noticed my setup had the wrong toe-in to what I normally use in the Mini. Changed it & immediately did 1.36.0! Grin

In the race I spent the early laps trying to stay with Steve & Mr Oily but after lap 3 they gradually pulled away & I had PRibeiro snapping at my heels. I made a slight mistake at the Mountain about lap 5 which let PR through & almost Martin too. Chased PR for many laps, at the same time easing away from Martin. PR got to about 3s ahead when I had a slight lag induced off at the final turn (Barn?), which saw me go up the bank on the inside Shocked. Fortunately I got back on the track Ok with just a few seconds lost. So came home 6th (first Mini  Grin) about 10s behind PR & about 10s ahead of Martin.

Congrats to Dan, Bara & Steve.

Off to practice in the McLaren for Snetterton.

What a blast that was, a real laugh. Like a pack of wild dogs snapping at SBG's huge, wobbling derrière. Didn't feel I could pass him safely so just kept up the pressure and hoped he would make a mistake, which he didn't. A dance with a Spinning Dutchman set me back a bit but I managed to catch him on the last lap and had one last desperate lunge, but he defended well and I had to settle for a place behind his swaying backside. Brilliant fun. Unfortunately, it's a battle my chair didn't survive. Look at the state of my haddocking seat. That was a fully functioning and intact piece of office furniture at the start of the race!

How do you manage to drive sitting on a chair with castors on a wooden floor?

Surely every time you press the pedals you propel yourself away from your screen  Huh

Judging by your damage imprint... I deduce it was edge of the seat racing!?

p.s. DIY on the flooring was it? Nice tidy job if it was  Smiley

I rest my heel on the pedal plate and rotate the foot around the heel. There is no backwards force, probably helped by the fact that the pedals are old and knackered and the springs don't offer much resistance anymore.

p.s. DIY on the flooring was it? Nice tidy job if it was  Smiley

I'd like to take the credit for it but I can't. It was here before I was.
