i only got my warnings once it rained harder and the track became more slippery. I agree that they should remain in place for areas like the first chicane and to prevent too much cutting at Ascari, but the 2nd chicane one is plain daft as it penalises you for using that small green tarmac patch on the first left jink which is part of the natural racing line through it. Forcing low winged cars to actually jink left-right, combined with the kerbs, unsettles them and causes spins (as witnessed plenty of times there, i noticed !).
I also think the Ascari exit should allow the green triangle patch to be used also, as again you are forced wide and its very easy to drop a right wheel into that suction pad gravel or slippery kerb and spin/fling you into the wall. (as happened to me when i lost the rear wheel
). Watch any real race at Monza and cars are allowed to use those green triangle patches, thats why they are there !
Is it too hard to trim back the cut warning just a little to accomodate those two small areas ? Of course if the majority here are happy with it, then keep them in. Nobody wants to see people taking advantage of no-cut warnings.
I also agree that the cut warning at Craners at Doni is again too draconian. Add a bit of rain and its too easy to pick up un-neccessary warnings.
Got to say, the changeable weather has really spiced up the racing
It adds that extra element of uncertainty/luck that can mix the field up and challenge all racers. Now we just need to use a little light-time settings magic to really make it more lifelike
whats the word on templates for the new cars? shouldnt we be dishing them out to the teams so we can all get our respective painters to skin some cars for the new season when it starts ?
Any news on GTC/G3 cars ?
