Yep, the same Mike!

I can get a reasonable pace in practice but I've not had too much experience with the 'racing' - certainly not against humans...you are human right?

Thanks for the luck everyone.

well i started practising in the 906 and thought i had notched up some good lap times.... then I checked the off-prac server 10 mins before 8pm and i was miles off the pace!!!  Undecided

i panicked and swapped for the pantera..... which i have never driven being a 911 man. Was really chuffed just to be under 2 mins but quali'd near the back. Race was mad and i end up spinning lap 4 and had nowhere to go, sideways across the side of the track and Tinman hit me and retired  Sad

Sorry Tinman, in hindsight I should have quit  Undecided

I just had nowhere to go when I saw Minton's car in the middle of the track.....just one of those things I guess :'(
At least the crash is going to look good on the replay though...managed to roll the car at least 10 times!!!  Smiley

Great fun that one - even if it was my team mate I ended up racing.  Thanks for being the gentleman there Legzy - I tried to avoid your spin, but just decided to pass on the wrong side.  Sorry to Tony for getting caught up in the aftermath!

Cheers, Ross.

Pretty uneventful race for me, somehow tiptoed past the T1 carnage and was racing myself for most of the time. Had a great view of Madd's incident with Sandor's yellow Pantera, you were lucky not to be wiped out!!!!  Shocked

I somehow didn't have the normal 906 unlocked so I nicked the nice blue one, returned in one piece  Roll Eyes

Sadly I won't be able to make Nurby  Angry hopefully see you in S8

So, my first race...actually a bit nerve racking, but I still had a great time.

I qualified well over a second off my practice time, but I guess it still wasn't too bad. I made a pretty good start but the extra fuel caught me out and I had to take to the inside of the first corner...thankfully I didn't hit anyone!

I think I came out of T1 around 7th and managed to hold me own for a little time until and I down shifted to much (a common mistake I'm noticing from myself!) and took myself out. After this I found it hard to get back in to the flow and went off a couple more times Sad

Once I got back in to my rhythm I was doing okay but spent the last 10 laps pretty much by myself...probably a good thing for everyone else though. Smiley

All said and done I'm happy with 13th not taking anyone else out was a big relief I have to say. Hopefully I'll improve in the next race.

Thanks all for a great race.

UPDATE: Seems I lied, I came out of T1 12th :-|

That was a brilliant race. The Österreichring really was a great driver's circuit, despite the irritating chicane, and I hope we can race here again. Quali went rather well and I managed 7th on the grid. A poor start followed and I found myself in 9th by the end of the lap. Me and Pribeiro then had a great scrap for position, swapping places frequently. After a while I noticed that D Minton had an off and Laslow collided into him down the straight to the last corner. I managed to avoid both of them but Pribeiro sneakely passed me through all the carnage and our battle resumed once more.

Eventually Prib's car fell foul of the chicane kerbs and spun round so that left me to drive my own race to the finish. So I wound up in 5th at the race's end but that was a fine result in my eyes. See you all at the mighty Nordschleife  Grin.

Great turnout, only sorry theres no more room :'(

Delighted to be the only one in 55's for quali. Shame that those RVS boys were in the 54's Shocked On a different level them evil twins, sold their souls perhaps?

Race began steadily, good work from all those around me, and I quickly settled into my "strategy". After Geoffers lost out to the Panties extra grunt I was left hanging onto Assassino for dear life. I held on for ruddy 18 laps keeping him honest and hoping for a mistake and he waits till penultimate lap to make one, at that silly chicane. Enjoyed the fight and a shame it ended then as a few more laps would have been truly exciting.

Everyone I came across was as good as could be hoped, not easy with those speeds Smiley Congrats to Madd, Assasino and Mike for his impressive debut. Bit of a change in pace next week which is no bad thing for my nerves Smiley

Yup, got a damn good price too  Smiley ,

I thought it was going to be a battle royal between Dan and my self for pole, and it was, how we got 54's I don't know , Dan got his first then I followed for the Pole time Cheesy , he was  a bit miffed to say the least!

As for the race I made a couple of silly errors, T1 was the first, I just started to lock up on the inside so rather than spin to try when attempting the corner I just tootled over the gravel out of the way, it meant I lost some positions but it was the lesser of two evils.

Of course this now meant chasing down Assassino and Dan, great, why do I make it so difficult for myself!

I slowly started to pull up to Assassino but got cought out by his slightly early braking into the last corner and slid into his drivers rear corner  Roll Eyes , thankfully he caught it  Cool and so I backed of slightly to let him get the gap back before resuming the hunt! Grin

I got a far better drive through the chicane and managed to sneak past on the inside at the uphill right hander, next target, my Team boss!

Slowly reeled Dan in over the next few laps but just as I started to get within striking distance he spun  Sad , not good, especially as I saw he quit soon after (apparently due to a quite spectacular spin and roll combination), after that it was just a case of keeping it on the black stuff and trying to pull away from Assassino, which I did albeit by only a few tenths per lap.

The only other memorable thing was coming up to lap Sandor, who just after the chicane had a tank slapper and spun directly in front of me, I slammed on and just managed to squeeze past enough so he hit the side of my car...phew!  sweatdrop

Congrats to the  Ian and Assassino and to all who finished.
