My quali sucked (went out on inters and only later realised it's soft-slick territory, but it was too late). Then picked up inters for race, got on the grid with 10 seconds to go, realised it's raining way too much for them, jumped out to change for hard wets and missed the race for a second or two. DQ. Sigh. Serves me right, practicing hard for a track I hate is completely unacceptable anyway...

Bunches of wusses the lot of ya trying to get rid of monsoon conditions! It's not reality, so dieing isn't a problem! It was great fun driving blind, on ice, against a rapidily dimishing field size. What other conditions could see such exciting action and the guy second from last in GT1 qualifying go to the top of the leaderboard in the race? Overtaking, crashes, exciting car control, lights, crashes, exciting car control, crashes. How much more exciting do you want it!?

Where's the fun of not seeing anything? The dawn race in Monza was a also. Not seeing my braking point and where the other car is while entering a corner was never my idea of fun. Sightseeing? At 300 km/h? I don't need it. Getting wet/dry is tough to drive in. Monsoon is just a drag and gets boring after some time - just like the dry. TT

Part of not seeing anything yesterday was thanks to it being a night race too! Night + monsoon is the only combination we should try avoiding but threacherous conditions in the daylight is ok to me And soft wets not working? I know the temperatures were very low, but I was doing 35's and 36's during that second part, which is only 15 seconds slower than in bone dry conditions. What would you expect to be lapping at in those conditions? was good fun!

Can anyone tell me which tyre to select when? Softs/Med/Hard slicks are obvious. When it's damp you slicks are still the fastest choise right? But when is the time to switch to intermediates? And when to soft wet and hard wet? By the way, did the pitstops went like this?

Not really, it's nearly always a gamble. I personally prefer the best tyre to keep me on the track rather than necessarily the fastest when it's damp/wet/monsoon.

I loved the conditions. It was horrible to drive in, but I liked the fact that anything is possible. Softs didn't get up to temp, but it wasn't that bad like Busi said.

Well I don't know about you but when my tyres were down to only 40 C it was utter pot luck as to whether I was going to make it into any given corner, through said corner, and out of the other side of said corner without spinning should I so much as look at the throttle a microsecond too early.

no complaints from me on the nasty weather. I was looking forward to a challenging enduro in the dark and wet here and had a decent wet weather setup sorted so was hoping to give Ginsters a good battle up front. Alas the flying laps 1-2 carnage denied me the fun. Though to be fair, if it was 100% Monsoon conditions the race would be red flagged or continued behind a safety car wouldnt it ? Did it rain full on the whole race or some intermittent thunder storms ? Shame the champ battle didnt pan out on track as hoped. Doubt there is much change with neither me, purds or JPS scoring points.

These conditions are really tough to get right, I remember Imola last season was just like this, dark, flooded and wet. This season's Imola was similar. Driving in the wet is fun most of the time, but I don't really like wet & dark as it needs so much concentration and you struggle to see your braking markers. Plus it's very easy to take others out. I think the lesson I've learnt is when driving is that hard, shut the hell up and don't talk on teamspeak

Have some of you gone soft I don't think we should have a knee jerk reaction to the weather after one race where the monsoon conditions lasted longer than we would have liked them to. Once the season ends..need to get the best SROU engineers to sort out these terrible CTDs if possible, which really ruin things for everyone at some point or other, the season has been plagued with this issue.. :'(
