Moderator's Report

Server replay time: 549s

Gomes tries to overtake Ade going on the inside at Rivage, locks up and makes contact sending Ade off the track. Gomes allows Ade back through once he rejoins.
I see this overtake as ambitious as evidenced by Gomes locking his wheels whilst trying to keep a faster, tighter line.

  • Gomes Silvapenalty — Ambitious overtake — 2 places lost

Server replay time: 631s

Gomes gives Ade a good start once he has let him back through but is much quicker down the long back straight. Gomes is much faster through Blanchimont and can not avoid contact with the read of Ade's Lotus. After these two pieces of contact, Ade has lost 9 places in just over half a lap. Again both drivers behave in a gentlemanly way and Gomes waits for Ade at the bus stop and flashes an acknowledgement.
Although Gomes is clearly the faster driver at this stage of the race there is no option but to penalise a further two places.

Hi Johny. You only need the 2.9.5.1 physics pack, each pack is standalone. Best installed on a virgin copy of GTR2, and you'll also want the GT3 skins otherwise most of the cars will look like "primer". Cheesy

The server is nearly always available for testing when there isn't a league race on - see the announcements box at the top of the forum. It's currently cycling between UKGTR Spa (you'll need the track pack too) and two new tracks.

Hi Johny and welcome from a fellow newbie.

Click on the link at the top of the page in blue "usual practice password" and then look for the UKGTR servers online.

Hope you're not too quick Smiley

Sounds like you're using Arcade or Semi-Pro mode, you need to be on Pro (I think that's what it's called) as the 'lower' modes use a different lobby. The server's definitely there, I was on it earlier. Wink

Hope you get your tinternet working for Sunday Johny  :'(

and it felt pretty good at Spa, only did 3 laps and did a 2:29 (with a full tank of fuel), so more to come off of that...i hope.

Online, it was mid 25's in race setup but only half a second quicker in quali mode. Spa and the 811 has to be one of the best combos, it could be bettered by using the old chicane mind Wink Looking forward to a dry race on Sunday, please.

Think i need alot more practise with these cars Huh Only done a few laps with the viper and 350z to try them out but not really under 2.30 yet with them. Was just trying out the porka when the game crashed. Sounds like its going to be a bit of a GT3 cup race then!

Do we know yet if this championship will stay GT3 only? Only most seem to want GT1 for Le Mans, and I'd take the Viper (in GT3) based on it being rubbish on fuel and tyres (and it's fun).

GT3 only and Viper + Le Mans however will be difficult to beat. Could we do GT3 for Spa, GT1 for Le Mans etc? Just a suggestion. Smiley

Anyway, good luck to those who race, I'm not sure whether to yet. Lips Sealed

I agree Smiley Don't think I've ever done a challenge using all classes and it would be interesting to find how we all fare when using GT1/2/3's for one championship. We could also use GT1 (i.e. the MC12 punk) at Lemans then  Wink

As a result of last week's race at Donnington I have unplugged the G25 and will take a break from racing. Cue cheers from certain aliens who will no longer be held up.
I shall continue to moderate GTR2 races (so few actually do) and will watch this season with interest. I hope everyone enjoys their racing. Hopefully I shall feel welcome enough to resume racing at sometime in the future.

It's all very well for you aliens to keep chopping and changing cars every race but most of us struggle to get used to just one or two over a whole season. If we just change class every race you haven't got a championship, just a series of fun races.

Hopefully I shall feel welcome enough to resume racing at sometime in the future.

I'm sure you will - but who am I going to battle now for the 'honour' of slowest Team Shark driver? (Cue comment from Picnic.)

ps. Managed a 2:29.6 in the 350Z on race fuel but with a wacky setup which probably won't work over a race distance.
