Moderator's Report

Server replay time: 828s

Mo is following Shark down to Rettifilio. Shark has been braking relatively early every lap, but this time almost locks his right rear, leaving a trail of rubber. Mo, who is under pressure from JonM, gets closer and closer under braking, and moves to the right quite early, but cannot slow enough to avoid bumping the back of Shark's car.

Shark is pushed onto the green runoff, but rejoins ahead of JonM, who uses the incident to pass Mo.

Mo should really have stayed to the left, which would not only have given him a chance to go up the escape road, but also given him a better run through the first part of the chicane. However, this was the first lap when Mo was close enough to learn when Shark was braking for the first chicane, and Shark was braking earlier than most, so I'm going to reduce what would normally be a two place penalty to a warning.

  • mowarning — rear ending Shark

Server replay time: 1512s

Shark half spins at the Rettifilio chicane and collects Mike W, who aims for the inside, and is unlucky that Shark comes to a halt resting right across the track.

  • Racing incident

Server replay time: 1627s

Mike Wrightson is following Shark very closely into Retiffilio, and is caught out at the end of the braking zone by how slow Shark is through the first part of the chicane, very lightly nudging the back of the Mosler.

Server replay time: 1694s

Shark spins in Ascari; he does the right thing and stands on the brakes, but Mike Wrightson tries to drive round him and runs off through the gravel and into the tyres.

  • Racing incident

Well what a nightmare of a race, is it really Friday the 13th today ?
Didnt think it was possible to have so much bad luck in a single race.
1.  FFB failed on form lap, no feedback or resistance from wheel.  Very odd driving experience.
2.  Lap 2 or 3 theres a spin at the last chicane in front of me, hit the brakes, spin, end up in the gravel and just about last on track.
3.  Get a stop go for cutting the track at T1, not helped by no FFB.
4.  Get a stop go for speeding in the pit lane.

Hope thats all my bad luck used up for a while.

My first NGT race was better than I was expecting  Grin Qualified in 5th, couldn't get a really good lap in for my own mistakes but was very happy to start in 5th. The race went quite well everybody in front of me just seemed to make small errors that allowed me to get the run on them into the next bend and somehow finished 2nd Grin Was quite nervous in the NGT as I'm not used to them at all and I thought I might cause some kind of accident but thankfully this wasn't to be  Wink. Grats to Matjaz on the race win and to shark on championship win, also grats to dE racing on team champ  Grin

sorry for the outbraking at the chicane, but who spun me out later.gerald Smiley I was hoping to be steady but discovered that I brake late at the chicane and could not get used to being unable to get though there at my normal pace.

Congtrats to Shark and dE Racing, both champions subject to any strange rulings Wink Replay and provisional results are available.

Was well chuffed with my qual time. Might have been only 6th on the grid but I did sneak under the GTRank benchmark time for Monza. Sadly the game has binned that time and save my slower one from the race - doh.

I managed to run wide at Lesmo 2 on the first racing lap letting Truetom and Ruf through. Watched them battle until Ruf got passed and I followed a couple of corners later. Ruf then spun, I thought I had some clear track but one final death spin and Ruf was in my path. We made contact as by then I had everything locked up in blind panic  Shocked I got away ok with the everyone close behind. Over the next few laps stuggled to a 4 sec lead before my persuer had an incident, now 12 secs. Then another and 21 secs. All the time I was losing touch with the car in front. Would have been happy with 6th but someone else's accident promoted me to 5th. Equal best finish for me this season, so pretty happy.

Thanks all for taking part and making this fun  Grin

heh, I sucked Smiley

I've never been fast at this kind of track, and it was no exception tonight.  Shark came back towards me near the end, he spun going into T1, but ended up parked on the line and I couldn't stop before I hit him Sad  then he spun again in Ascari on the last lap and again, was right on the line, tried to go round him but I was too fast and ended up going head first into the tyres.  Lost splitter and LF puncture and limped home 6th.

Grats to Mat for the race win, Shark for the championship win and wow!! dE Racing wins the Team championship!! Grin

Thanks, can't believe I managed to get the 4th I needed to win the championship, was real touch and go there. Woooooooooooo!

Was suprised to see JonM go by as his Q pace was not there and then Mo caught me up I was really worried that I wasn't going to hang on to it. Mike then caught me up when I spun into T1 chicane (who ever thought that chicane was a good idea needs a good kicking) and then again later I span going through the fast chicane on the last lap, I was desperately trying to keep it solid and not make any mistakes to keep the 4th and was shocked when the back end came round as it was unexpected. Unfortunately for Mike but forunately for me in avoiding my spinning Mosler he careered into the barrier and I crossed the line at the end of the lap to discover the race finished. Didn't think the NGTs would get to the distance before the clock ran out but there was at least 2 mins left I think and a very relieved Shark at the end of it.

Just like to say well done to everyone this season, especially Matjaz who undoubtedly was really the fastest NGT man this season and Mike W who made the championship a good battle to the end. Good team championship win for deRacing, well done and well done Team Shark for second spot, excellent result.

Has been great racing with everyone and the sporting atmosphere has been top notch so thanks to all the drivers. Gotta get in some GT practice now for the other championships.  Smiley

Finally a special thanks to Picnic for the very generous and kind provision of his server for UKGTR, without which we would not be racing and secondly to Gizmo for putting in a huge amount of hard work to make UKGTR the league it is. Cheers guys.

Congrats on the championship Shark - sorry if I made you work for it as we were dicing for many laps.
I'm relatively new to this and this is the first time I've really been competitive - I hope I was fair and clean....
Mmm errr well apart from the helping hand through turn 1  Embarrassed  - believe me I nearly sh!t myself .

Then had a close call with As-here spinning on the main straight - could see the whites of your eyes as I went passed you going sideways at 150mph

Anyway, for me my first podium and really enjoyed it
Had a great battle with JonM_UK for the first third of the race - man you pushed me hard and eventually I cracked.
Then you passed Shark and eventually I got past too although it took me several laps to get away from those snapping teeth.
Nearly caught back up at the end and in fact I didn't realise the race was over when you spun out  on the start finish,  what a crash!

Thanks again to all the guys who put in the hard work to make the season happen - cant wait for season 2........

Yes, thanks to you all behind the sceans for the hard work. Have enjoyed the ngt sprint races and seen them as a good grounding and learning curve for the endurance races.
Congrats to Shark and dE racing on the wins.
Looking forward to season 2.

That was me and I'm really sorry for that. No excuses I just didn't react to you braking in front of me. Hope it didn't ruin your race too much.

Well that sees the end of my first ever season of racing, phew! Congrats to Shark and DE racing for their respective Championship wins.

Ive had a great time racing (well tootling round admiring the scenery) with you guys, and has been mentioned thanks to both Picnic and Dave for their efforts, much appreciated.

Two questions:-

i) When is season 2 starting?

ii) I know we have an endurance series, and these are sprint races, but is there any chance we can make them a little bit longer? They seem to be over just after they`ve started.

Cheers
