Spanner runs into the back of Lazlow at T1 having been distracted by Samb out wide, causing Lazlow to spin into Samb, then spin back into the path of the rest of the field, hitting Tibernius and some other light contacts. Everyone is able to carry on but Lazlow loses quite a few places.

This has to be the full 2 place penalty given that it was a totally avoidable first corner incident when everyone has to be extra careful, and could have taken out half the field if the spinning cars had fallen differently.

  • spannerpenalty — Rear end collision — 2 places lost

clipped a wall hit a rumble strip wrong and then sent Matt Rowe over the barrier by accident, quit out in dismay.

Ahhh, engine let go on lap 22  :'( :'(

Followed Madd for a lap & a half until he flipped it. Led for a few laps then crashed at T1 & let Phil into the lead. Held off a hard charging Oily until I crashed at T1. Then spun at T11, dropped to 5th, back to 4th when Goldtop spun. Chasing Lazlow until engine prob. I was trailing smoke for several laps until it blew, consequence of the crashes I suspect. Roll Eyes

Congrats to the podium, cya next time.

That was all going well until real life took over.

Mr oily was steadily pulling away after a nice little scrap to leave me in 4th eventually with a 5 or 6 sec gap over Lazlow then Geoffers hit trouble and I was in 3rd. I got distracted and ran wide incurring a stop/go then I managed to bin it in the twisty bit and lost loads of time/places. I took my SG but ran wide again on the next lap for another SG Hit with a wet fish

On my next lap I discoed. I suppose my first podium was never to be Roll Eyes

A fun race while it lasted. Having finally got rid of my wireless and trying out the ethernet adapter thingymagigs Ade suggested my internet was much better this time round. About 5 mins before quali though, I had a bizarre problem of not being able to join the server, while still being connected to the internet  Undecided. A quick fix from the chaps from teamspeak and a restart later, I was back in business. Sadly I didn't have enough time to set a timed lap, so started from the back of the grid.

The Red mist decended and I may have been a touch too aggressive and cheeky at the start, and was up to 8th by the end of the first lap. I continued to gain places up to 4th, till I got a stop go, mainly because of that ruddy Brewery Bend. Never really recovered from that and managed another 2 stop go penalties. Must be a record for me  Grin. Towards the end my heart wasn't really in it anymore, feeling a bit guilty of using the pitlane as an advantage at the start  angel, so decided to retire.

TURN YOUR HEADLIGHTS ON PEOPLE! Yeesh! I nearly took at least 3 cars out who were coming past simply because I couldn't see them in the mirror because of the lighting.

Epic race for me. 7th place. Best finish ever. Thrilled. No stop and go penalties as I was super careful and it paid off.

Thanks for the amazing race. 26 laps flew past in what felt like 10 minutes. That was terrific!

And Tinman... Man that was a hard fight. I won't deny I was pleased when you spun at the last corner, but I felt bad for you too as you had put up a fantastic fight.

Shocking race for me. got the hang of some quick laps but never managed any consistency here. Three stop n go's & plenty of visits to the walls with my front end, sums up my race.  Sad

Welllllllll, that was as fun as I expected. tarred somewhat by my own lack of concentration on lap 1
I think I put a wheel on the grass trying to take a wide line into the arena.
and then Madd's... shame about, that I was beggining to feel guilty that I was holding you up
and was about to let you by at the start of the next lap, I generally prefer to have quicker
cars in front rather than have to drive defensively and risk a a mistake. If we were being paid
for this I might think differently  Grin
Caught and passed a few people more than once, hoepfully I didn;t get in your way too much
the Matt/Aston combo is not the most accurate thing on the track  Wink
Top mark to  Phil for getting max team points  Smiley

It was a really good fight. I was thinking "one more corner to go - don't make a mistake"  Doh!!

Ross - no problem, these things happen.

Apologies to Spanner - I lost it in the wrong place at the wrong time.

its ok got in race ok, but still cant seem to connect to TS server.
That's a shame. With all the cut tracks I was getting & rather poor driving on my part generally it seems, I would have quit out last night if it hadn't been for the added banter entertainment on Team Speak. Excellent fun as usual chaps.

Burtoner, have you seen these details for TS connection? https://www.simracing.org.uk/smf/index.php?topic=5646.msg96822#msg96822
I wrote this quite a while ago, maybe that could help you too? https://www.simracing.org.uk/smf/index.php?topic=5646.msg97318#msg97318

Why wouldn't they - they've got half the world signed up to drive for them. Seems like they've taken over the Team Shark mantle of being "the Evil Empire" lol

Not sure why I was so fast here. Maybe the hours spent with Crammond's version on the Amiga all those years ago lodged in my subconscious and counted for something. There was a huge electrical storm here during the race. Bangs, crashes, wind and rain so heavy I thought the windows were coming in. Very off-putting, or maybe it kept me awake. About 5 laps to go the storm culminated with an almighty flash of lightning, the sort that seems to fill the room you're in, and a crash of thunder that loosened my fillings. I was just waiting for a pop from the distribution box followed by darkness and silence, but luckily the electrics held out and I crossed the line, slightly frazzled but happy to have made it to the end.

Thanks to all I lapped for gentlemanly driving.
