My mistake Goldtop......... Damned, I had the wrong version of the track ..... argh... how come you prefer the 77 Mosport to the Mosport 67 Mike ?
The 67 looks soooooo much better IMO -- the colours, the details, everything.
Well, never mind - the 77 seems a bit faster. Got me a 1.36.600 in the Shelby 289 after a few laps.

I've just done a training session with the "Yellow" cars, and I've to say they are pretty well balanced in this track. Good Job! I report to you some laptimes done all with full tank in practice 1 session: L76 Roadster: 1.37.875 Trans-Am: 1.37.757 Ford Falcon Weslake: 1.37.795 Corvette Z06: 1.38.557... With the N°5 Z06: 1.37.356... I don't know if it fit better the first or second group of cars... probably is in a "middle" class between the 2 groups. However is a test, and probably the strongest drivers like Mike and Ian can surely keep the pace of the others even with the other Z06 except the N°5... Let's see what's going on for Thursday... Cu soon guys

Woohaa ...... gettin' to like this Jimmy Hendrix car ( i.e. wild thing ). It's fun to drive, once you get to know it.
Just did some more laps in my Alfa-red Shelby 289 , and got me a 1,35,900 hotlap. I get splittimes that indicates a posible low 35 for me. I wonder what the aces could manage in this car, a 33.xx lap ?

got down to 37.0 in the 275, tried the others and prefer the 275 here. As I am using Greater Manchester Public Transport this week I get home a bit late so lack of practice means I will be in the 275 for the race.

I'll be taking the 275 too if I can get online. But as I'm nowhere as quick as my esteemed colleague I'll have to devise a cunning stategy

B'ah my pre pit stop lap curse continues ! Running 6th, right behind Goldtop in 5th and applying pressure, came out of the sweeping turn 1 and my left rear must have just grabbed a bit of outside kerb and it instantly spun me inward across the track and into the wall ...car barrel rolled and came down with suspension damage :'( Had the car running reasonably well thanks to some setup help from Ade and looked like i was on for a top 6 finish, barring pit stop shenanigans. Shame to see a low ish turnout and again several people having contact or retiring on laps 1 or 2 of an hour race Use a bit of patience people, you havent got to steam past them so early !! I'm not so sure making these races an hour long is a great idea for a midweek night. Dont know about others but it makes it hard to commit to weekly when youve been at work all day then tell the missus your disapearing for most of the evening, plus its not always an appealing car/track combo for that length of time, which could be stomached a bit easier for a 40-45min race. I think a vote would be good on race length but if everyone else is happy with an hour then i'll tow the line. Just my two cents.

Apologies to Bonnie, saw a spare bit of tarmac, went there, but the car just ran into the grass and there, it was dificult to hold it. Intirely my fault. Race was a totally crap for me. One to forget.
API, I hope your car didn't get a damage on our contact.
Congrats to podium and top 7.
Cheers

I was very slow here and couldn't find a fix so settled down to being last. Made a mess of my pit stop and couldn't even keep up with a crippled Pribeiro. Eventually all skill ran out and I slid across the grass on one of the two downhill left turns and hit a barrier/tyre wall end thing which totalled the car.
Nice track but thought the rails/tyres had odd placed ends that would always badly damage the cars if you hit one. If there's another version of this track that has more sensibly placed trackside furniture maybe we should give that one ago.

It didn't so no probs. Race itself was pretty boring to me. I set new PB in qualifying and gained the 2nd place in the grid. However, Ade overtook me just after a few laps. My pit stop wasn't too good as I forgot to hit the "Pit Request" button. So when I came to pits, there was nobody and I lost about 5 secs because of that. Shame that the grid was so small.

Another tough race. Was going ok in 4th with a long strategy, but coming under pressure from Riccardo. Skewed it at the double right hander and was collected by Riccardo causing suspension damage - my fault of course buddy and hope it wasn't the cause of your long pit stop. I pitted with about 12 mins to go, only for my dozey pit crew to hen it up again. I had to go out and re-pit, thankfully they got it right this time. I went onto softer tyres which caught me out twice on my outlap with resulting spins Was running very low on fuel so opted to let Ade and Manteos past by slowing and pulling off track - don't think I'd have made it home otherwise. Congrats to Ade on the win; bad luck to Manteos with his fuel crisis and well done to API for completing the pody. Well done also to Stig for a solid 4th and good to see Tony with us. Hope to see a few more of us for Doni in a couple of weeks.

I haven't had an opportunity to see the replay, nor will I be able to till I return from holiday, but glancing at the best lap times, it is clear to me the handicapping is producing close lap times. Manteos through Lentolo all lapped within .1 seconds of each other. The final race results show things spread out a bit though. Could that be down to varying pit performance?
It's nice to see a number of VDA drivers joining the fray. I'm sure turnout numbers are a bit off due to the fact that it is pre-season testing.
With regard to the race length, I am certainly open to making adjustments, but past experience proves to me that 60 minutes works best to balance pit strategy (do I take tires or not?). Compared to previous seasons, only an additional 12 minutes for quali is the added commitment.
I'm posting next week's sprint race now.
