Had a beautiful ride through the countryside in the Aston. Waved some people who were obviously in a hurry by.. Then I hit a wall and the engine was kaputt.
Congrats to all finishers.

Even though his race was curtailed by a uncharacteristic collision with the scenery, Mark Cinderby has claimed the silverware in this championship, well done and congratulations Mark The final race in Sweden will feature the Aston and the Merc and will sort out the remaining podium steps, and with three drivers contesting these places it should be an exciting season closer. Thanks as always to everyone who took part tonight and respect to all those who actually finished. For my part I ignored my own advice and managed to collide with a tree I hadn't met before in previous races, so a first for me . Still, the early bath did allow me to watch some extremely skillful driving particularly the closest ever racing between Mark and Pelle for the first few laps. Awesome stuff and much recommended to view the replay just for that alone.

GTL crashed on me, after I crashed heavily twice in the first two laps. Shame as I had the speed, and I like the track. Congrats to Mark on the championship and all podium finishers here.

First off congrats to Mark for being the Champ and to Pelle for winning this round I was planning on racing as well but had some clutch/tranny issues with the Scirocco this morning. I thought it was just a clutch cable starting to go but something else has broken internally. Oh!! Goodie!! I get to pull the tranny again!!!

Thanks Tony another very interesting night. Free practice was a disaster, had a break from practice to settle myself. Qualifying went well new PB, race start went well and passed a few cars, OK till exiting first town when I just clipped straw bales on left and got flipped into right hand kerb and did a 180. Waited till traffic all passed and got going again in last, caught up with an incident on 2nd lap and was nudged off damaging car front end. Continued for a few more laps collecting more damage until I saw SpecialK’s label on outside of track but no car so slowed, went to inside clipped bale and was flipped onto top of bales on outside of track. Car settled fair and square along bales – stranded until suddenly SpecialK appeared and kindly gave my car a nudge knocking me off behind the bales. Regained track and continued for a while nudging bales until was bounced, on a fast section, between the two sets of bales sustaining crippling damage. When the leaders approached was able to maintain line to allow Mark past but not Pelle, who gave me a big thump knocking me off the track.
To my surprise car seemed to handle better and after speeding up found it handled quiet well so was able to press on and did a series of laps of about 3:17, about 0.5 sec outside my qualifying time. Suddenly I went from happy bunny to OMG; I saw my engine health was in the red about 15%. I spent the last 4 or 5 laps short shifting, lifting on change up instead of full power change ups, heavier and longer braking to reduce chance of over revving into corners and lifting near the end of the long straights. Lap times dropped to 3:25/30s and after what seemed like an age the race was over.

First congrats to Mark on winning the championship, great driving. My race went quite well for a few laps, more or less stayed with the leaders, then I ran a bit wide out of the fast left over the crest near the end of the lap & couldn't quite get it back on track before I hit the railings where the track crosses the railway. Car seemed to drive ok for the rest of the lap, so carried on, but as soon as I tried taking a fast curve it was all over the place. Crashed twice on the next lap & decided to pit for repairs, rejoined a lap & a half down. Only other cars I saw the rest of the race were Bill's Healey & Mark's stranded Aston. Luckily got 5th with all the retirements. Congrats to Pelle, Ade & Matt.
