You're too late for me to have assigned one - but there are spares so you should be able to join

Even though the race was a little lonely, I really enjoyed sliding the Ferrari around Mosport.
There was no way I could match Tim's lap times & thanks to me once again getting a rubbish start he was already well up the road by the end of lap 1. Equally I was comfortably pulling away from the GT40s of Max & Lorenzo & by the time Watty had found a way past them I was around 12s ahead of him.
Took the lead for a while when Tim pitted early but after my stop I was around 40s behind him so just concentrated on keeping a decent pace & not making mistakes. However this was made a little difficult for the last 20 laps as my wheel was becoming loose on the desk. Without the knob to hand to tighten it I had to keep shoving it back into place on the straight & trying not to put undue force on it through the bends, hence my laptimes were a little off what I was managing in the first half of the race. Very happy with 2nd place in the end.

Congrats to Tim on the win & Max in 3rd.  clap clap

My pace  was allright here but lost count how many times I spinned, result may have bit better but chasing fellow Fords was way too fun so I decide to go pits later than planned which cause worn tires ofc, finally pitted and f****d that too. Great race!  Grin

Not driven the GT40 much and will be driving it even less after this series is over.....horrible car!

First stint was ok and after gaining a couple of places through incidents and I even managed to keep a small gap back to Stefan. Pitstop was perfect, taking on fuel and fresh tyres but the next 45 mins was a struggle. I had trouble just keeping on track and must have gone off 5 or 6 times eventually just tip toeing around to come home last.....no fun at all.

Well done to all for finishing and congrats pody.

hah, that was my exact opinion after doing some brief pre-season test with all cars at 3 tracks to gauge relative performance.

All I can say is I was definitely wrong, it has a sweet spot and if you can hit it then its an absolute peach, although it still has sudden death with the tyres which happened to me just before half distance, they hit a wall and the grip goes even though they are all still showing green...

The Race:

Was quite a fun if generally lonely race for me, I outqualified Watty which was a surprise, and then managed a nice start almost passing Geoffers too, but having learnt from the last race its not worth to fight a ferrari in a slow car I opted to back out and let him take the position into T2, then set about building a gap, helped in the first laps by a fast starting Kimi who held Lorenzo and Watty up nicely with what looked like a good battle  Smiley

Watty eventually passed them and cruised up behind me and again the sensible option was just to let him by down the back straight and then try and keep as close as possible till the pitstops hoping to jump him.  I'm gonna say that worked nicely, though I'm sure he had some horrible pitstop or mistake at the same time as he was much further back than expected after pitting - allowing me to not quite to cruise, but drive sensibly to the flag.

With 10 laps or so to go I had some horrid cramp in my left foot (might have to make a foot rest over that side, as it was fine when pressing the clutch but horrible the 97% of the lap I wasn't), and I was honestly glad to see Tim growing closer in the mirror so he could lap me and I could finish sooner LOL

Funny you should say that - I had the same, couldn't get my little toe to stop cramping until I took my race boot off!

It was a fairly quiet race for me, but the shift down from 5th to 4th after the back straight managed to spice it up for me twice.
The first time I missed 4th and had to hold it in neutral while braking as hard as I could - I was too careful when slotting the car into 3rd and didn't rotate soon enough to avoid going into the wall HARD (This is why I pitted so early)
The Ferrari had a monster of a wait due to needing nearly 60Ltrs of fuel - in the end my pit crew changed all 4 wheels, the wind screen and all the bodywork before the fuelling was done Grin

At about lap 40 I missed 4th again (I have my SHH set in a dogleg pattern to match these cars) but managed to chuck it into 3rd early and just slip the clutch until I was slow enough to let it out fully. I missed the corner still but this time didn't make friends with the wall.

In the Porsche I was skipping gears on the way down as it needs to be geared very closely (and has good brakes) so had never realised that mental tiredness and wrist tiredness would have such a critical effect! I really need to get around to making myself some extra shift gates for the SHH. The 8 speed plate is just too much hard work in VR when you're not using the far right slots...

Luckily it's LM next week so I won't really need to use the gearstick very often!
