UKGPL Season 21 65 Professionals TrophyRace 1 MonacoWelcome one and all to the Inaugeral event in the new Professionals championship!
After several years of decidedly non-amateur racing we've finally been promoted (
) which also conveniently leaves the Am's slot available should the 65 series grown enough to warrent 3 grids
So, in an unusual step we are opening the season at Monaco.
Monaco is famed for a great number of things, one of which is the utter lack of run-off, so I don't need to tell you all to be very carefull and give each other room here.
As with the other championships Pros will be running FULL moderation of lap one, so any incidents will be acted regardless of wether they are reported or not (Why did I agree to that with Monaco first on the list?!
)
Also worth noting is that this season in Pros drivers will be required to complete 50% of the race to score points, this is especially worth remembering here in the tight confines of Monte Carlo.

Reserve drivers should not join the server(s) until there are only 30 minutes of qualifying left. Please restrict chat to pit messages. Moderating will be by reported incidents only, however the moderators reserve the right to review any incident with a particular emphasis on lap one. The aim is to review the race the following weekend so incident reports should be submitted within five days of the race (ie the following Friday). We're hopeful most incidents can be resolved amicably and recommend a days deep breath with a replay review before posting. A sorry in the forum won't be taken as an automatic admission of guilt by the moderators.
The race will be run on PRO Damage.
NOTE: Please ensure you join the correct server, due to the way we import if you start the race on the wrong server your result will not count.
To give drivers some free choice in the chassis they drive for the season we have split the cars into groups based on average performance and split the drivers into groups based on average ability. The chassis numbers for Amateurs are as follows:

Reserve drivers should not join the server until there are only 30 minutes of qualifying left so as to give the FULL TIME drivers chance to join, and drivers are not to go out on track until there are 30 minutes of qualifying left as this helps all drivers join the server successfully.
Please restrict chat to pit messages if necessary, and this includes the end of the race, until all running drivers have completed the necessary laps.
A bit about the circuit:
The Monaco Grand Prix has been run since 1929, and is widely considered to be one of the most important and prestigious automobile races in the world, alongside the Indianapolis 500 and the 24 Hours of Le Mans (informally known as the Triple Crown of Motorsport). The circuit has been called "an exceptional location of glamour and prestige."
The race is held on a narrow course laid out in the streets of Monaco, with many elevation changes and tight corners as well as a tunnel, making it one of the most demanding tracks in Formula One. In spite of the relatively low average speeds, it is a dangerous place to race.
The first race in 1929, was organised by Anthony Noghès under the auspices of the "Automobile Club de Monaco", and was won by William Grover-Williams driving a Bugatti. The event was part of the pre-Second World War European Championship and was included in the first Formula One World Championship in 1950. It was designated the European Grand Prix two times, 1955 and 1963, when this title was an honorary designation given each year to one grand prix race in Europe. Graham Hill was known as "Mr Monaco" due to his five Monaco wins in the 1960s. Brazil's Ayrton Senna has won the race more times than any other driver, with six victories, winning five races consecutively between 1989 and 1993.
