I'm not twisting the facts. I was gonna let you through there anyway, I'd made my mind up going through Markets turn. Was a bit fed up of the 16v Climax. Made a bit of a fight of it though.
Quite how you were able to brake so late made me wonder what bias you were running to make the car so stable. I managed 3 consecutive screwups at the hairpin due to late braking when the car spun.
Just as a global FYI: the 2 valves per cylinder Climax engine developed so much power that Climax had a job getting the 4v-p-c version up to the same power rate and beyond. GPL supposedly models it with 13 more hp than the 2v-p-c engine. Not a lot in the scheme of things.
Heh, well I got the slipstream and went for it, and you tried to go around the outside - didn't look like letting go to me.
I was running 50 bb, lol. I half-spun a couple of times in Qualifying, and nearly so in the race. It was tricky to judge the distance on full tanks early on, but as the race progressed I got near my favorite tree braking marker on the right (the next tree after the big tree
). As long as you don't turn in too early while you're still on the brakes, it won't spin, so it's better to go wide a bit but preserve speed and direction.
In any case, the Brabham is easy to throw in a slide and counter-steer it near the apex. Nothing like the Honda in 67s on Sunday, heh.
