It's got a bit messy as Pink is the overflow for Grey but the latter is currently down to just Juha and myself. I will let Mr Evil ponder that one

You can drive for Grey or Pink sky but let me know which BEFORE the race as it affects the chassis selection. OK?

Fingers crossed I might be able to actually do this one although I have zero practice for it! Just got a little job to do on the bike first though....

You all know the difficulties with the poor rear view in these cars so please be aware that the car in front maybe cannot see you and does not know you are there. Particularly on the first racing lap! The use of the "virtual mirror" may not be exactly historically accurate but it makes things a lot safer..it is your choice.
where can I find the patch for "virtual mirror" ? is it only for GT mod ? is it easy to deinstall if not really appreciated ? Thanks

You can now. Unfortunately, when someone votes, we are not automatically notified so it's a case of if we happen to check. Best thing to do is put a note on the registration threads to say you have voted.

Embarrassingly bad - had a nice race with Sky at the start but made some errors. Found myself on the armco at the last turn and that was that. At least I can start the server right now. Apart from that as useful as a chocolate teapot.
Sorry to anyone I got in the way of. I tried to be good.

Whenever I slip behind the wheel of these sportscars, I have this overwhelming desire to use 1 gear between two corners, short shift off corners to use the torque of the massive 7.0lt V8's and brake early and steadily to keep the fat lumps heading on the straight and narrow. I simply can't drive 'em like a GP car with doors which seems to be the only way to be competitive with anything other than the Porsche. I do love driving them though...they are fun of a different kind. Circulated in the mid/low 50's made a couple of small mistakes but finished....albeit 2 laps down, just stayed out of everyones way and had fun. The GT40MkII is heavy, and grunty. The 4 speed box lends itself to short shifting off corners and riding the torque curve brilliantly. I suspect it would run a long time being driven in this manner. It's such a pity we can't do endurance type races in GPL, cos in a 6hr enduro I think the MkII would figure prominently in the results.

The best I can offer Geoff is the last race of this GT series, which will be 50% longer at Le Mans Sarthe. Race length should be about 85-90mins, if you can all stay awake. I would like to have made it worth double points, but that probably complicates the whole championship table beyond belief. So all you get is the satisfaction of surviving and normal points. Still trying to come to terms with throwing away the win last night and will post my view of the race later.

Frankly last night's race felt like a six hour enduro effort. Lewis Hamilton I was not. At least at Le Mans I might make the grunt of the Mirage count a bit. Poor old Clive has to take the Porker so his race will be the normal 100% length

I felt quite sorry for you, bad luck, but there is always next race.

My race was nothing special, I did OK in qualifying. I didn’t get a PB, but Phil was so far ahead that even a PB wouldn’t of put me any higher on the grid. My race was a little uneventful. The only thing I did notice was a bit of fps drop, it didn’t make much difference, and it wasn’t too noticeable when driving.
After the start I was in a little pocket by myself, I couldn’t catch anyone ahead, but I could just about keep in front of Geoff behind. Geoff speeded up a little so I needed to respond, which caused me to have 2 spins, one after another, both at the same spot which was the braking zone after the main straight. Geoff had his own moment, which let me get past and at that point I was doing OK.
I was happy doing my laps and getting out of the way of faster cars, when Hristo came up to lap me. He caught me at the last corner, but at this point was still quite a few cars lengths behind. I was planning on taking the corner and coming off throttle on the start/finish straight. I made a small mistake under braking (I was watching my mirrors) and ran wide, and Hristo went for the gap, and I turned in. We collided and I lost a wheel. Sorry about that Hristo, looking at my reply there was a huge space for you.
After my 10 second pit stop I was quite some way behind Geoff, so settled in to bring it home. Evil past me at this point, I let him though on the start/finish straight, but he had a little spin at turn 1, I hope I didn’t effect you in any way Evil. Geoff had a moment because I was right behind him again, and when he had another moment I got past. After that I just brought the car back home.
Overall it was a lonely race for me, I didn’t see many people and just cruised around for most of the race to bring it home safely. I think I beat the people who I could realistically beat so it was OK. I would hope to be involved more in the pack in future races.
