Again, perhaps in certain hands yes.
The BT11's main advantage over those 2 chassis is in the corners, and in general, in the hands of most Novices that advantage is not exploited and the Hondas and Ferraris will be quicker over the season.
So you're saying that in Novices the better drivers gain time on the straights? That doesn't make sense to me... Also, the groups are the same in Amateurs. I think what Mike means to say is that the Novices will probably be trying more to keep it on the track rather than going fast around corners. In the right hands the BT11 is deadly in the turns, but the slower guys will probably more deserve the faster cars to learn not just how to go quickly with the gear but also drive fairly. (my £0.02)

Everyone knows that million-to-one chances happen 9 times out of 10. Why the hell do I keep crashing then?!

So you're saying that in Novices the better drivers gain time on the straights? No. I'm saying the Novices BT11 drivers don't make up time in corners the way that most Amateur drivers do by having the car on the limit necessarily. Also, the groups are the same in Amateurs. No they're not. There were 5 groups last year compared to 4 in the Novices, and the Amateurs will be run by Tim this year so it is up to him how he addresses it. As this is the Novices registration thread rather than the non existant chassis allocation thread, can we at least wait until allocations are posted before starting the usual "I want a faster car" arguments?

Hi all. Just got back from the hol's and I am looking forward to another season of madness. Having just joined the Hikiwaza team, I am sure you appreciate only one car will do for me. See you all on track.

That's it for now unless you have some indication of your speed in 65s which would help us to assign you a chassis for the season.

Hi, thank you for the quick reply. I just downloaded and tried the 65 mod, in a ferrari with predefined set up (just tweaked the weird gear ratio settings...), 9 laps of fuel I am doing mid 29 at Mosport. With some set up changes that should go down 1 or 2 secs I think, but thats just a guess for now. Thank you guys.

Hi there, and welcome. Looks like you'll fit just fine into the novice league. If you have any questions feel free to fire them in, no question is silly apart from one that hasn't been answered, if you get what I mean Maybe take a look at joining a team. Nicky/Phil maybe a new driver for AntiPasti Racing. You may also enjoy the Spec Race Challenge. Predominately a 65 mod series with a chance to try out some if the other mods too, without committing to a full season in them. Of course if you would liker to try the 66 and 67 series you would be most welcome too. Enjoy.

Made my decision and gone for another Season in Novs - Lotus for me Please - failing that the Cooper could provide an interesting season, goodbye overtakes on the straights. Looking forward to homing my racecraft, what there is of it

Looking forward to homing my racecraft, what there is of it Tim, nothing personal, but don't you think you're a bit too fast for the Lotus, especially compared to some of the true novices for next season? Just my observation of your last couple of races, but I'll leave it to division admin.

Hi guys, thank you very much for the good advice. Think joining a team would be interesting, although I am a true novice of online racing, so take me in at your peril!!lol Will stick to one series trying full attendance, but maybe it would be good to try and join something else without committing to it 100 % if thats possible. Do any of you guys know which one is the fastest car in 65 mods? According to the ALs speed I would say the ferrari, but then again I am not sure, after some set up tweaking my times are still glued to mid 28s in mosport whichever car I try!! Also, does any of you know if theres a wheel with force feedback in the brakes on the market?? Bet you heard these questions already? lol Thanks guys, looking forward to have a go, yesterday night I relentlessly spinned my way to last in the mosport race.... A

The Lotus or Ferrari would be a good starting place.
FF in the brakes! Wow, no not heard of one of those.

If you want to dip in and out of other divisions that's fine - just vote less then 75% and you will go in as a reserve, you should still get to race but full timers get priority. Grads Privateers is good for when you are ready to tackle the 67 Beasts and there's also Specs and Historics. I've never heard of force feedback brakes either...
