Bob, why don't you try another car? You have plenty of tokens.
It's an honor thing, Billy. I'm an average driver (GPL Rank +8) where the concept of "average" has changed considerably over the last 20 years. All the guys I used to beat back in the day have found other things to do in the meantime, like women or Counter-Strike or methamphetamine. Me, I'm the same, but the guys who are left for me to play against are the ones I couldn't have conquered on my best day in any era. I can adjust for all this if I'm playing the AI guys by tweaking the NPT_override, but real drivers --- you guys --- aren't so easy to tweak.
The UKGPL is where I come to relax from the cares of the day with the old Cooper. I remind myself here what it was like back in 1998. I don't care if I finish last. I care if I finish. When I want to remember what it was like to get my nuts caught in a meat grinder, I take the green flag in the oAo races every other week. That's the joy of schizophrenia: One league lets me calm down; the other produces reliable post-traumatic stress disorder.
You're very, very kind to offer help to one who appears to be a helpless rookie, and I do thank you for it. But this, I'm afraid, is always going to be my private combat: Can I beat the Eagle at Tripoli in my Cooper or will I have to wait for another day? It appears that last Sunday was not my day. But why give up now?
