SUMMARY
Another impressive performance by Tim Muttram to claim victory ahead of Evil Clive. Both drivers managed to extract the best from their nimble BT11s. King Hiro drove very well to claim third place in his BRM.
In all ten drivers managed to complete the distance, a notable achievement. Five laps of the Green Hell under PRO rules isn’t easy.

Lap 1 Südkehre – Phil Thornton and Bob Whitwell
Phil got a decent start and kept to his own side of the track on the run down to Südkehre. Bob had a slower start and moved over from the right hand side of the grid to the middle of the track then braked quite early for Südkehre. Although there was enough room for two cars, slight wheel-to-wheel contact was made and Bob was sent into a spin resulting in a pile up involving several other cars.
The dilemma here is the choice between making a fast start but being careful not to rear-end someone and a slow cautious start but quick enough to avoid being rear ended. Whichever choice is made it is always safer to stay on your own side of the track. Phil made a good start, kept to his own side of the track and braked in plenty of time to make the corner. Bob made a cautious start but in moving to the left of the centre line he gave Phil little room to manoeuvre. Bob’s car snaked slightly under braking and this was enough to register contact.
Phil could have backed off earlier but given that he is normally overtaken by 2 or 3 cars off the line in 65 mod races he was expecting to have cars all over his gearbox. It would have been safer if Bob had stayed right off the line but having made the move he could see cars in both his left and right mirrors so he had to try to hold his line.

Lap 1 Hocheichen - Phil Thornton and Storm Cloud
Phil lost the rear end on cold tyres and half spun into hedge. He bounced back out and tried to put left had lock on immediately to avoid encroaching on the racing line but didn't manage it. Storm Cloud went for the gap because although Phil had ended up on the racing line there was a still good car's width of space left for him to get past. Unfortunately with internet lag it wasn't enough and warp contact was made (no actual contact on the server replay).
