Fun track, I enjoy it much better now than when I first joined UKGPL in season 25 ( https://www.simracing.org.uk/smf/index.php?topic=11828.0 ). I had such a hard time with the track that I postponed my UKGPL debut until the next race (Monaco). Congrats John P. and Rog! I surpassed my humble expectations today by finishing third. I joined the qualifying round with 8 minutes left, and I mostly wanted to get into a rhythm before the race. I started near the back, and the race looked fair and clean from my vantage point. I was very happy with the way that my BRM was going through the corners. I only over-rotated once. I caught up with Rog with a few laps left in the race, and he drove solid under pressure. I was only able to make one overtake attempt into the hairpin, but I did not want to leave my braking too late while on the inside line. Good race, I could not ask for a better group of people to race against. -WC

Couldn't get to grips with this track at all , far too micky mouse for me , I got eye stagma after a short while and felt dizzy , too many corners , most look the same , could't tell one from another Apart from that my race was so dull I could have brought a book with me to read , only excitement was being lapped Grats to the podium boys

Hi Yesterday was my First Race in the UKGPL. I only raced 7 Rounds but I had Fun and the Drivers are very fair and recpectful. Congradulation to the winner also to the 2nd and the 3rd. Now in the next Four Weeks i train very hard and I hope in the next Race I finished after the full distance. I think it is the green hell from the Nürburgring. So it is very very difficult.
P.S. I started as Josh64, but I changed my Name to Kai J.Daum65.
Best regards

I did a lot behind the scenes for this race, it took quite a lot of offline practice to get the car to drive well. I had difficulty stopping in a straight line and cookie kindly gave me a baseline setup that was far better than mine but still far too nervous for me, It eventually came good with soft rear rebound and dampers. I used my game pad for this one too as try as I might I cannot get to grips with wheel and peddles but I'll keep trying.
The race was fairly steady once I had got away, I had 2 spins on one lap but a good run other than that. This circuit is much harder than it looks as the car seems to wander a lot and its all too easy to enter a turn rear end first. Well done to Rog in the BT7 for keeping Walter at bay- a great effort and also to Walter for fastest lap- I thought I might have got that.... Thanks all see you next time.

Kai, In this series you can take one Reset [Shift R] followed by a compulsory STOP & GO. Good to have you along. We have a great league - competitive & fair. Next race will be your home Grand Prix & will take lots of practice for all of us.

...This circuit is much harder than it looks... That's still true for the pros. There are a lot of hidden bumps (especially Stag corner, that I can never take quickly, comfortably, so I'm always too slow, just safe, as long as I stayed off the curbs), true reflection of a street track (a crappy one imo ). Your observations that Cookie's setup seemed "nervous" and the car wanders a lot: fast race cars will almost always feel that way. They are not designed or set up to be stable, where street cars are. You might try lowering the amount of toe-out (front) and toe-in (rear) (this will cost quick turn-in and maybe some mid-corner "bite", but should be more stable), along with softening the springs/dampers/bars, until you're more comfortable. As always, try the changes one at a time so you have an idea what each change feels like. Change multiple things at once, and you won't know which change made the car feel better or worse.

Grats to JP on win. Have raced here before and hated it, but this time enjoyed race, prob because of car setup, used Hristo race setup as base and it worked well, the BRM did slightly faster lap time for me in praccy but had more offs so decided to go with the BT7. Tried to keep up with JP but that was not to be he kept extending his lead, latter part of race had some good racing with Walter who caught me, a few more laps and you prob would have passed, see you all at Nurburgring.

Time penalty is fair - but should both Dave C & I get penalty points for an incorrect Stop & Go? We're getting the team a bad name!

Eh? 2x penalty points for that?! I thought this was acceptable behaviour seeing as it was the last lap? I even submitted a report for that myself; maybe I should have remained a bit quieter... Cheers anyway, good job. Cheers, Dave.
