I have never blown up more engines. I have been running the 65s since I came back to GPL @ 2 mos ago. Just this past weekend I jumped back into the 67s. I don't remember blowing up this many engines back in '04. I have downloaded alot of different sets trying to get used to the 67s, but I am constantly blowing them up.
Do I need to short shift more? Any suggestions?

The usual culprit is not up shifting, but down shifting too soon and pushing the engine to over rev when braking for a corner. Well , that was always my mistake

Might be worth looking at one of your replays and seeing if that red pointy thing in the middle of the dashboard goes round twice and flies off?

I expect you are burtshifting.

It took us at least three seasons to stop Burt from changing up without taking his foot off the loud pedal.

Aggressive downshifts are also a problem but they seem to come later in a drivers development.  Apart from not blowing it up, it really does help to keep the car under control if you delay the downshift just a tad.

I do that too. In the 65s it hasn't been a problem but it will be in the future.

I try not to do it in races but I always do it in practise.

This is an adaption from the motorcycle racing version, which is colloquially known as the "loud handle"
At least in Australia anyways. For obvious reasons....you turn the handle on a TZ..........it gets LOUD........Smiley
