GPL Driving Cockpit

Does anybody here use a cockpit or driving seat of any kind or are we all clamping our wheels to a desk?

After building my MAME cab last year I'm feeling the urge to become constructive again and make a cockpit of some sort.

What a question - Battlezone was dull, dull and, oh yes - dull ! Robotron however, was the work of genius. The GPL of arcade games.

Well, in comparison Robotron is fab but I do happen to like Battlezone as well.

Well I have been tempted to build a cockpit, the only problem is that there is someone else who uses this computer and "she" might object to surfing the net or playing Sodoku/solitair etc. from the seat of a Brabham with only steering wheel and pedals to position her cursor??!!
I suspect in our democratic household I might get out voted by my other half in any ballot involving the two of us .

Well, luckily all 5 of us have our own laptop (perk of the job) and I have a spare PC and monitor to use should I go ahead.

It would be as welcome as a fart in a spacesuit but that has never stopped me before.

Sadly, like my MAME cab, it would have to live in the carpeted half of the garage.

What would make it more politically viable is if I found her a fruit machine first.

There is a recurring theme here in all this. Perhaps, we should all use our powers of persuasion.....and try to convince our 'Fun Wardens' as Craig comically puts it, to participate in a Ladies Championship in some of the lower power cars (F2 or below) Who knows, our situations may just improve with some remedial'hi-octane' togetherness......

If you are responsible for coaching your good lady and she finds that someone else is beating her......I'll allow you to work out who's fault that will be!!!  It will not be "her" fault because she was only doing what YOU told her  ..........

If she gets the GPL bug and wants to practice more, who is going to win control of the computer resources?
