Yes. I pay for an ADSL link at 8mbps but because of where I live I will never get more than 4.1mbps. It usually sits at around 3.2mbps. Most UK connections only have 512kbps up which is what I have.

I'm not switching to a faster cable connection because I have my phone, TV and ADSL as a single package bundle so to switch I would have to pay more for my TV and switch phone providers.

Don't forget, you could play GPL on a 56kbps dial up. Shocked

XP Home is Windows Lite.  Wink

It is Windows XP Pro with all the good bits removed.

Chances are the code is there in Windows but hidden from you.

Try using the Run command to launch it directly.

Click START -> Run and type perfmon then hit OK.

It may launch unless it is completely removed from the code in XP Home.

Ran a CPU test on the server at Brands 67 for 8 hours - results here http://forum.racesimcentral.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=471708&d=1231713741

Was not heavily tested but either way no major blips. Probably doesn't help you but there it is...

Thanks Tim.

There are a few minor blips there but not as regular or high as mine.

I have setup GPL on a better PC and will hook that up as a server this week and see if that is any different.

That's some high CPU usage there, what spec is the machine?

OK, I have a new UKGPL5 up and running. It is a much higher spec machine and I have taken a trace of a brands race again.

Here it is.

http://www.jamesonline.net/ukgpl/pics/brandsnewtrace.jpg

The middle part is the race, the action at each end is me messing around with it.

You can see a small peak in the race bu only in the high 30s rather than 100% CPU.

I will be looking to test it this week at Zandvort with the 65s and I will try to leave it looping most of the time.

Please jump on and try out the brand new 5UKGPL. Smiley

P.S. Anybody wanna buy the old one?  Grin

Seemed pretty good to me tonight @ Zandy.  Initially the L bar was about 60% but went right down to around 5 or 10% right when my daughter put her web cam off!  Angry

Interesting, as it would suggest that not all all and warp problems etc are at the server end.
