Just a quick question in regards to the tokens. Do we receive 10 tokens by joining the practice or after the end of the race? For example, I though, as it is Round 1, I have only 10 tokens for starting the season. In this situation, as I drove BRM, next time, if I join Round 2, Am I gonna have 30 tokens in total before the race or 20?

You earn tokens by starting the race, so you have to cross the start line. If you are classed as a DNS (Did Not Start) you do not earn any tokens. You only pay for the car after you finish the race. If you only qualify in a car, you don't have to pay for it but neither do you earn any tokens.

So in your case you are correct, you will have 30 tokens if you start the next race.

If you hover your mouse over your total in the championship table your tokens (before you start the next race) are displayed.

Just to clarify one thing, you could have taken the Lotus for Round 1. The token system is designed to give drivers a choice of the fastest car for any race, including the first one, but not for every race.

10 tokens for the season + 10 tokens start money - 20 tokens for the Lotus = 0 tokens left over after Round 1.

So if you had taken the Lotus for round 1, the fastest car you could have for Round 2 would be the Brabham (0 Tokens carried over + 10 tokens start money = 10 Tokens available).

This principle is the same for all the championships that use tokens, i.e. also the 1955 GP and the 1967 F2.

It is a great system btw. I chose the BRM on purpose, as I wanted to save tokens for later tracks, especially Hockenheimring. Smiley

Are there free spots for F1 Works? If so, I'm interested in joining. I voted at the top of the page to attend at least 75%.

Thanks!

Awesome, Thanks! Look forward to seeing you on track today. I should get some sleep. 24 hrs of Daytona has made me stay up late . Haha.
