The 10th and last race of the season is at Monza. This is the fastest GPL original Papy track. No need to say anything more... As requested by the drivers there will be NO handicapping. Please check the Season 23 pages for details regarding rules and the Intermediates Trophy pages in particular. Qualifying may start before 9pm, if so, Reserve drivers should leave the server when 35 minutes of qualifying remains and only rejoin when 30 minutes of qualifying is left. This is to ensure that Full Time drivers get priority in joining. Please restrict chat to pit messages if necessary, and this includes the end of the race, until all running drivers have completed the necessary laps. The Intermediate Trophy races are run under Int Long rules and all incidents in the Lap 1 red zone will be moderated and reported incidents for the rest of the race, however the moderators reserve the right to review any incident. Drivers are reminded that they are limited to ONE Shift-R. The Red Zone will extend to the exit of Malmedy if your Moderator mixes up his posts - look below smart alecs! Please ensure you are aware of the new in-series penalties for this season. Details are here. Drivers incurring a penalty will receive a PM informing them of this." Please submit incident reports within a week after the race so that the moderators report may be out before the next race. Should be fixed now Fabio. I was a bit tired when I posted and forgot to associate the topic with the race. Apologies.

I was fine m8, although perhaps lucky to not pick up damage there - I had a brief moment of panic then realized I was still pointing in the right direction and rolling on all four wheels so I just kept going. Finished 5th in the end and well chuffed with that from 12th on the grid!

Gotta say that was th best race of the season for me, proper racing.
Greats to Jonny on a fine performance and to podium. Well done to Ray on the championship, the better man won!.
Managed a good pole time thanks to a tow, not sure who from but thanks, got away well but was in close company and has to flick right to avoid hitting Ray I think, ended up on the grass and that was that, SR and S&G was in that pack with Norm, Bernie and Geoff I think, unfortunately that ended up with me flying through the air on the rails but the car came to rest rubber side down and seeming undamaged so gave it the beans and had a good battle with Jason for a while and managed to break the tow but by then I was 30 sec behind the leaders. Any way excellent race and look forward to racing again with you all next season. Grats again to Ray on champ!

Monza is a race of patience, strategy very similar to an oval track. My car was perfect, but I would not try anything else, did not want to disturb the decision between riders vying for the title, I was very careful with them!! But the victory fell into my arms!! Congratulations to the trio, Peterson, Garreth and Rainier, you guys dominated everything!! Peterson Congratulations you are the champion!!!

Big Apologies to Ross Hawkey. Hope the crash didn’t ruin your race. Feel free to report it as I will accept the penalties with no excuses.. The race didn’t really work out for me as I had a couple of other shunts along the way although I was well beaten before then. Also had one with my team mate. WE won’t be reporting that one though. Well done the podium. It sounds as though JonnyO played a clever race. Congratulations to Ronnie who is a worthy champion I have really enjoyed the season. Interest in team championships seems to be diminishing in all classes . Mountside were the only team to consistently have 2 drivers in the race so we are champions. We’ll take that ’cos if your not in it you won’t win it. Hope to see you all next season. Oh & a Merry Christmas & Happy new year to everyone at UKGPL & in particular to those who make this all possible. THANKYOU Norm H

Big Apologies to Ross Hawkey. Hope the crash didn't ruin your race. Feel free to report it as I will accept the penalties with no excuses.. Norm H Thanks for the acknowledgement there Norm. It was the only incident I'd been in contact with another car for the whole season, and it certainly was a big one . Foolishly, I didn't look at the replay before leaving the server (forgetting GPL doesn't auto save replays), not that I'd want to do anything other than work out what happened and how. I'm usually pretty good at Incident avoidance (I'd already tiptoed my way through a couple earlier on in the Race), but at that point and speed on Curva Grande, I couldn't do much to avoid the contact. GPL's usually pretty good with Yellows etc, but I maybe missed one at the end of the straight. Had to Shift-R, and stop/go, which cost me about 25-30 secs I guess, which I guess was a bit of a shame 'cos I may have been in the mix with 2 or 3 cars up the road, but had great fun anyway. Well done on the pace of the front runners all season, fantastic pace. My tactic is to put in steady consistent laps, and it's gained me some decent midfield results through the season, but I think I need to work on, and understand the GPL setups a bit more, to get a bit more out of the car. Not that i'm looking to report anything :-), but does a server replay usually go up for members to download? Looking for ward to returning for more next season. Well done to Ronnie on the Championship for this season though, and to all who took part.

I note from some of the pros that they hate Monza? What planet are they from, oh yeah there aliens!
I beg to disagree, that was a great race, 4 leaders and 14 lead changes quite apart from everything else going on up and down the field. I like Monza and hope we see it again.
Notwithstanding any moderation, I lucked in with the championship tonight but not the race win.
First up a Ferrari to play with, then quite a few fast drivers had misfortunes early on and Gareth by his standards had a tough night. My chances of that podium I needed was looking good. But I got greedy and wanted a win. So commenced a great dice with Dave and Jonny for the majority of the race. Whether I'm right or not both were very kind on me while taking every opportunity to get/stay ahead. Great racing guys, some of the best I have ever had. Close but fair, hard but fair, great fun. Jonny turned out to have more brains than both of us when he decided to sit back a little. With two laps to go his strategy paid off. When Dave and me tangled, as can happen and no ones fault, Jonny struck and took a deserved win. Dave recovered faster than me to take second and I concentrated on getting home for the last spot on the podium. A shame it was over really.
Commiserations to Gareth who is clearly a class act. Thanks to everyone for a great season. I thought the track selection was excellent and the racing even better. Obviously if I race the 65's next season I will shift up to Pros but I hope the intermediate division is well enough subscribed along with the novices for all three to remain available to provide the best choice of racing for everyone. Ciao.
Gareth I have just watched a replay to enjoy the racing again, but what I did not enjoy was my unfortunate steering input assisting your off and you losing a wheel. Not deliberate I can assure you but certainly not pretty now I have seen it, apologies. Not sure how it would affect results but I don't have a problem if you wish to report it. I look forward to racing with you again regardless.

It can produce interesting races, but also very boring ones. If you had raced in the Pros yesterday you would know why. Also if you have raced Monza for more than 10 years regularly, you'd be thinking differently. Honestly some of us are sick of Papy tracks, lol.
