Just to clarify; swearing is not tolerated in forum posts or race chat. Surely we can find better ways to express ourselves. It's not a great idea in IGOR chatrooms either.
Anyone doing this can expect an immediate race ban and, in the forum, an immediate posting exclusion. If you want to do it in IRC chatrooms fine, just don't expect to do it in UKGPL's.
Enough said we are all grown ups and gentlemen here.
PS: and being grown-ups we all know the kind of swearing we mean. A crap, on occasion, is a necessity
The registration agreement that everyone has to acknowledge when joining the forum starts with (emphasis added):
You agree, through your use of this forum, that you will not post any material which is false, defamatory, inaccurate, abusive, vulgar, hateful, harassing, obscene, profane, sexually oriented, threatening, invasive of a person's privacy, adult material, or otherwise in violation of any International or United Kingdom law.
Virtually every forum in existence has a similar agreement and most enforce them within the practical limits of the administrative staff's ability to notice everything posted in breach of the agreement.
Allowing foul language in the forums would not only present a very poor view of our community to the outside world, but risks sliding into
ad hominem attacks, flamewars and such a loss of civility that people will no longer wish to be members.
There is no debate on this one, gentlemen. We are all adults and know when a line is crossed. Apologies do not belittle us. Behaviour may slip from time to time but please try to ensure it isn't you.
