I can understand the logic behind this, and will watch and participate this season with great interest.

I see the above has appeared everywhere for Season 26.

A real disincentive to put any practice in as far as I am concerned particularly in the event of an early race end. But if its what the majority wanted then so be it.

Can someone remind me just how many did want this?

Honestly speaking I thought the rule was changed to >= 75% and I think this is the most incentive rule to begin to practice just to have a little hope to stay on track as long as possible to score a single point. The obvious consequence ?...It is better to drive more slowly but finish the races (like I didn't in my early attempts in PSC championships).

And if you have 2 incidents not your fault? Out of the race and if its before half way No Points after perhaps 2 weeks practice?

I cant see it will have any effect in what I do, turn up, try to go quick, and try get to the flag.
what will people do different if we must get to 50% race distance to score? try harder not to crash? were you not trying before?
It makes no difference for me.

Edit. anyone lapping off the pace with 3 wheels or a buzzed engine or whatever needs to get out the way or get a punishment. the punishment should apply to the next race. (obviously giving someone who is last, or didn't score at all, a 1 or 2 place drop is useless)

Several Seasons back, the points scoring system was changed, to reward every driver for simply showing up to race.  So now we're told, these drivers will be rewarded, for driving extra carefully?  I wonder if we are we falling under the influence of a 'Granny State?'   It's something politicians are sometimes accused of doing - making us behave the way our Grandmothers would like us to.

The scoring was changed to make the championships closer and spread the rewards over what, were, very unmatched fields. This has had the unfortunate effect of promoting people who have just 'looked in'.

We HOPE that having to get to 50% will deter people from making ill-advised 'lunges'. Probably not though 

Your club and you get what is asked for. Although there were not many voices asking for changes there were absolutely none endorsing the status quo.

As for resets, multiple resets are actually extremely rare.
