Season 36 1967F1 – Round 9 – Jarama - Juniors
Season 36 is a joint series between GPL Brazil and UKGPL. This post is for the Junior division. Round 9 of the Privateers 67 Trophy will take place in Spain at the Circuito del Jarama in Madrid. Jarama was built in 1967 & has hosted nine Formula One Spanish Grand Prix. It has one proper straight and most of the course consists of tight, twisty corners so overtaking was extremely difficult.
Server = UKGPL10 IP = 217.155.118.41 Race date = Sunday 24 May 2020 Time = starts no later than 21.00 UK time. Track = Link Race length = 32 Laps (50 minutes) Variant = 1967 60fps patch used 60fpsV2newmod Damage Model = Intermediate Qualifying time = 30-45 minutes Replay = here
The Juniors championship has Intermediate damage model. Every driver is permitted one reset. Each reset (irrespective of fault) must be followed by a Stop & Go in the pit lane within two laps of the incident. If a reset is required on the last lap a time penalty will be added. Failure to take a Stop & Go will result in a time penalty. Any driver taking a more than one Reset will be disqualified.. This season, races are to be run at 60 frames per second – please use the 60 fps patch
Driver lists and divisional rules including rules on car selection can be found on the Championship Standings page

That was a very hard race. Race long battle with Andreas, we finished very close but Pribluda was showing 2 laps to go on the last lap so I thought I had one more lap to mount an attack. It probably wouldn't have made any difference, I needed Andreas to make a mistake for me to have any chance. Great driving Andreas. Also had good battles with David R, Billy and Bernie. Good to see Bernie in the 67s, but that was a tough track to make your comeback!

Congrats Eric - apart from maybe into the 1st corner, I don't think I saw you again!
Also congrats Phil for posting the fastest lap!
Managed to not crash badly (just a spin & a bit of bogging down up one of the hills) but managed to inherit a couple of places.
Pepe may have had a couple of minor moments, as I closed up a bit in the latter stages - but the gap was managed ahead/there were no mistakes forthcoming. So good drive there.
Welcome back Bernie.
Cheers, Dave.

I don't know what you guys are doing to make this year's races so exciting for me, but please don't stop. It seemed to start in Willow Springs where Phil and I went at it hammer and tong for what seemed like a week. Then there was more of the same at Riverside, Panorama, and Imola. Tonight in Spain was up there again. When I crossed the finish line, I could barely crawl out of my chair, so exhausted was I.
It took a PB in qualifying to put me 2nd on the grid, but my BT's chances in an ocean of red cars, green and yellow cars, and blue cars didn't look all that promising. Indeed, at the first turn I was already in third and looking to lose more, the victim of a truly great start from 5th to 2nd by David R. By L2 I had sunk to fourth behind Eric, Ricardo, and David. For the next six laps I pressed Monsieur Rainier like a cheap suit until he finally spun at Monza. My reclamation of a podium position was short lived, however, as I spun in T1 and handed third place back to him. I returned to the now familiar chase, hoping to make his life truly miserable, and finally succeeded when he spun coming up out of Pegio. Now I was back in third, 12 seconds behind Ricardo's Ferrari.
I didn't have great expectations --- this phrase must have a familiar ring in UKGPL, no? --- about catching Ricardo, but I was the beneficiary of three uncharacteristic mistakes that he would make on L19 (spin at T1), L21 (spin at Monza), and finally L27 (spin at Le Mans). Yes, I was off the track myself seven times in 32 laps, but I wasn't as unlucky as he was. I inherited second once again with his last error, now with a newly-inspired Dave Curtis and his Lotus breathing heavily just a second or two behind me. I had to hold him off for the last five laps and somehow managed to do just that.
This was not the kind of error-free racing that we would expect in the Works Division, but it is still some of the most exciting and excruciating tension that I've ever felt in this wonderful simulation. Taking on GPL is not something that most people can do at all, much less do well, but to be so closely involved in such tight quarters for upwards of an hour every other week is simply one of the highlights of my otherwise modest and restrained life. I tip my hat to those in the administration of UKGPL who make it possible. Thank you.

You don't say Not one of my favorite tracks so took the Coop for an easy ride , got a bit carried away chasing Billy , ambition overcame ability and made a quick 360 , followed again later by trying too hard to catch up, then a dose of cramp in my left hand had me waving it about ( my hand that is ) in the air to get the blood flowing back again when I should have been down shifting . Pretty much enjoyed the race , escp. the early laps and a new Coop PB bonus . Grats to the podium and all who finished in one piece , looking forward now to next race , Zandvoort ?

Raced with the BRM and 5 gears. All good until lap 4 when i have surpassed Phil in spin.Convinced to have Phil far behind i start the downhill when i saw the wheel of Phil on my left. Was not visible in the mirror before and to avoid the incident the spin was for me.From this point come back the problem with the steering wheel. All the rest of the race with a force to the right to be contrasted, not a good race.

That is very strange. I'll have a look at the replay to see if there is any clue as to what might be happening. It sounds like your wheel is going out of calibration or something is wrong with the hardware or drivers? Have you tried racing with the force feedback turned off?

Fran All the symptoms you are describing are consistent with the USB 2/USB 3 issue. Most wheels and shifters don't work properly in USB 3 ports. See Fanatec discussion.

No Phil, with the FB turned off never. I have turned off some parameter , like the damping. Normally happen when the steering wheel have a sudden maneuver I see like a flash into the game and the problem begin. Thank you for the link.

I had massive problems with new MoBo with only 2 USB2 ports in the rear. I had the KB and Mouse connected... I used G27 wheel and fanatec CSP in USB3 ports, this caused multiple problems as if you pull the plug and redo it several times.. IMO the USB3 driver are dynamically controlled and sometimes a new IRQ is set midst using it. Since I use the 2 USB2 ports for driving nothing happened anymore.

I have only 2 USB port.In the first i have the key board, from the second is derived a box with 4 usb.In this box i have the wheel ,the pedals, the gear box and the printer. Another things not solved ,that concern Fairshift,is the clutch. The clutch work for the first gear but not for the other. During the race i use the clutch for habit but i could change also without push the clutch. The strange is that i must work without the "enable clutch"ticked,if ticked i heard only the sound of the failed gear but the gear don't work.

Fran I'm 99% sure your problems are associated with your USB hub. I suggest you test it by moving your keyboard to the USB hub and connecting your Shifter to the USB port on your motherboard (which I assume is coloured Black = USB 2.0). If your gears work then we have isolated the problem. The keyboard should work with the hub. What is the manufacturer and model of your hub?

I've been looking at the championship and it is very close. It looks to be a 2 way fight between Andreas and Eric but David R and Cookie have a mathematical chance. The final round is going to be tense.
