Y'all using the 60fps v2 update? I sure hope so. No, please don't try it online it causes issues. 60 is the way we would like to go but not everyone has the PC's to run it...

OK. Never tried it online but I see several servers using it now. It's most certainly is a major breakthrough in this sport.

Hi Will
Great to see you have registered for S21. You are still a member of Antipasti Racing, do you want to score points for us this season?
Cheers
Phil

It would be cool if you could stay with us so we have more chance to beat one of the bigger teams . Tommie.

Against Hiki-Waza all attempts are futile, so why bother? Well, beating Hiki-Waza is hard, but possible It's great to see, that other teams are growing in strength. That just makes team championship more interresting

Hi Everyone
I'm looking forward to the start of the season, and my first online races against such a large group of racers. I just want to get some advice from you about what to expect on Sunday - how things work procedurally, advice about ....... well anything you think is worth stating (feel free to assume I know nothing, 'cos I don't).
Is there a page I should have read (or an email I didn't get) that tells me this stuff?
Some things I've thought about so far; 1. What version of Monaco do we use - I think I only have Monaco Rocks written over the original Papy. Is this OK? Can I use any graphics updates that I want to? 2. I was wondering about was car selection. My best cars at Monaco are the Lotus, Ferrari and Cooper, and I was thinking of using the Cooper just to save credits for later. 3. Obviously my mum didn't name me Arf, so my GPL driver name is different - should I create a driver called ArfArfArf for online racing?
Obviously I will try VERY hard not to hit anyone, so advice on the first couple of bends will be welcome (I only have experience of what the AI do).
Cheers

The new drivers thread might give you some pointers. Anyway; 1) You can use any track graphic updates as long as it isn't anything that gives a track advantage per this this; Modifying the graphics of a track is permitted without restriction. This includes the creation of additional brake markers.
Modification of the physical characteristics of the track is not permitted. Forbidden modifications include, but are not limited to, the following: changing the layout of the track changing any part of the track surface to alter its grip characteristics removal or addition of trackside objects with which a car may come into contact changing any parameters which may affect a car's performance and handling characteristics, for example track temperature or altitude
2) Car selection is entirely down to you per the token system parameters. 3) You can use a different driver name as long as we still know who you are as we have to map the driver names to the forum names when importing results. Obviously the less confusion for other drivers the better.

Graphic updates should work Ok, but may drag down your framerate, if you've an old system. But watch out for those with additional objects as these may unnecessarily impede your progress. Most of us use our real names at the track, as it seems more honest, friendly, and realistic.

Sad, but I bet 60fps will hardly ever get used unless it's a dedicated 60fps league. Too many old geezers in most leagues with old geezer machines. Before anybody takes offense, I'm squarely in the old geezer catagory, just with a middle-aged muscle machine. It's a shame really because the 60fps really makes for smooth graphics and, I think, smoother force feedback.

If you want to check what name(s) a driver uses on track v their forum name you can search them via the members button above then click on their driver history.
