So if I someone keeps making a mistake each lap and cuts a corner they'll get a penalty? That would be a bit ridiculous as it should only be for gaining an advantage...
So you're saying if they consistently cut a corner? If it's done consistently how can it be a mistake? We tried to make the rule reasonable, ie there is 'Accidental Corner Cutting'; "Occasional and unintentional corner cutting at random places on the lap." I don't think it would be fair to expect the moderator to work out exactly whether a time advantage, and how much, has been gained on any particular lap. If someone keeps doing it it also poses a potential danger to others if they lose control.

What is "consistently"? 2 laps, 3 laps? That's what I don't understand and it's not in the rules. It seems rather subjective. Also, is it judged by the server replay? Because if that's so (and I'm almost certain it is), it may look like someone puts 4 wheels off the track on the server replay when they actually don't on their game client.

So if I someone keeps making a mistake each lap and cuts a corner they'll get a penalty?
No. I said: anyone regularly placing all 4 wheels off the track risks a penalty at the moderators discretion It is up to the moderator to decide if it is being done on purpose or not, regardless of advantage gained. It's also unlikely that someone will make the same mistake at the same corner every lap. As you can imagine it is very difficult to correctly word such a rule and have it apply to every scenario of corner cutting. If we say every time then it is unfair as a mistake could be penalised. If we say 3 times then a 50 lap race would have more chances of it than an 8 lap race. That is why we say something like "at the moderators discretion" where we can apply common sense each time it happens. If you remember at Aintree both Karliss and Pete Maestro did it a lot but weren't penalised as I applied common sense and could see that they did not do it purposely to gain an advantage. At Adelaide Karliss did it lap after lap and I did think it was to gain an advantage so I penalised it. I think we all know deep down what corner cutting is and anyone doing it takes a risk, just like railriding which has been in our rules for much longer.

Alas, yet again I can't make a Supercup Race so a seat in Pastit Porsche is available for this one. Martin "Maddog" Hunt will drive if nobody else can step in but Martin is having connection issues ATM so he might not last the whole race.

Speaking about cutting corners, I suggest you all to disable "powders" (or "dust" I don't know the right word of the English version of GPL) visualization in the sim properties. I've got some powder in my eyes following Tristan and TomG and even 1/2 second lost while you're almost at the corner apex is leading directly into...a disaster, expecially with a crowded track at the beginning of the race !!! So I decided to disable powders visualization.

Yeah, that may be a good idea, but seeing dust up ahead can prepare you for arriving at an accident scene or a spun car or whatever, so it's not always a handicap. Plus it can help you see where other drivers use more of the dirty edge of the track compared to yourself.

OK - Had a go. Track is not as bad as I had feared (I just can't get Nurby...) BUT after ten laps in the Porsche my best is still 4:10 So in the race I need a couple of mass pileups (preferably on lap 2 well ahead so that you have all disconnected by the time I get there). That way I can nurse the car home for my first win as the only finisher.... Well I am in the Honda team and their ad tag line is about the Power of Dreams.... Maybe I'd go quicker if I take one of the turnings into the wood or come down the river... has anyone tried the 'Alien' route - it's quite a giggle and I think anyone qualifying in less than 3:40 should have to take it every other lap...

In fact you're in Hiki-Waza and the tag line is "ALL OUR VICTORIES ARE BELONG TO HER!!!" Anyway, 10 laps is definitely not enough for you to make valid judgement on how fast you are. It takes a lot more to actually learn the best line through each corner and manage to put up a lap together. I haven't driven it in Porsches yet, but it should be similar to how it is in 65s.

Yes Sergio, I had similar experiences in some races... But now I also understand why I don't get rid of some guys, following me close, when I want them to get some dust in their face For me the "disable dust button" seems not to work properly Ciao

Also yellow flags do the same thing and they don't fits in your eyes!

I don't see Stefano62 listed again as Team7 Reserve? Has any of Team7 drivers problems to race, just to let Stefano know if he can race? Ciao
