SUMMARY
A maiden win for Van Tussman made all the more sweet by claiming pole position and the fastest lap into the bargain. Nicky maintained his strong challenge for the title with a superb second place. Fabio secured his first podium finish of the season, well done.

Lap 1 – Start Line – Graham Poole and Bookie Westbrook
Graham was so far back he needed a telescope to see the flagman. Nevertheless he wasn’t last on the grid, that honour fell to Bookie. Graham drifts left off the start line and makes contact with Bookie who had made a much better start (presumably he was telepathic and knew in advance when the flag would drop).
Graham didn’t seem to realize that Bookie was alongside at the start. Unless you are absolutely certain that you are the last car on the grid, maintain a straight path until you are absolutely sure there are no cars along side. This is a first lap incident so attracts an extra place penalty.

Lap 1 – Tarzanbocht – Vlad Vosblod, Al Heller and Fabio Locarno.
Both Al and Fabio get better starts than Vlad and overhaul him on the run down to Tarzanbocht. Al gets clean through on Vlad’s right and Fabio gets along side on the left and is almost exactly a full car length ahead as they reach the braking zone. Vlad drifts left and makes contact with Fabio’s offside rear wheel, slewing him around and into Al. At this point complete carnage ensues involving most of the field.
Although surrounded on both sides, Vlad should have steered a straight course. He didn’t make any significant steering input, but he allowed his car to drift left as if heading for the racing line. Having made a slow start, Vlad should have expected to have cars all around him so he should have concentrated on maintaining a straight predictable course. This is a first lap incident so attracts an extra place penalty.

Lap 2 - Tarzanbocht – Billy Nobrakes and Phil Flatspot
Billy looses control and spins off the track finishing stationary on the banking but facing back towards the track with what would be a clear view of the braking zone had he used the “Look Right” cockpit view (keyboard “X” by default but remapping the “Look Left” and “Look Right” functions to easily accessible buttons, like the red buttons on a Logitech G25 wheel, makes the views much easier to use). He doesn’t see Phil approaching and rejoins directly onto the racing line causing a pile-up.
