First UKGPL Fun GT Race Silverstone

Monza             18th Feb............45 LAPS     ( ENDURANCE FINALERace series:-

 These races will be approx 40 minutes long with 20 mins qually to try and keep all sides happy.
The emphasis on these races is for teams to do well. Although there will be no official championship table, I will update a team points tally on the forum after each race so that we can all see how the various car/driver combinations are working out.

Points will be awarded as follows,   24, 22, 20, 18,17 16, 15, 14, 13, 12, 11, 10, 9, 8, ,7 6, 5, 4 . and awarded only for getting to the chequered flag. No finish = no points so looking after yourself and your car might be a high priority.

Rather than winning, getting your whole team to the finish and all scoring good points will be important, so car allocation might also be an important tactical move?

Each driver will allowed a single Shift-R per race and regardless of fault will have to perform a Stop and Go in the Pits within 2 laps or be DQ'd. This is simple, and yes a trifle harsh, but it is to allow the reliability factor built in to the GT cars to become a factor in these races and to avoid loads of moderating.

Remember that this experiment is designed so that we can all gain some experience and track time in the GT's and it is meant to be FUN!! Hopefully it will promote some close racing throughout the grid, as drivers of different abilities are using cars with different strengths to try and score maximum points for their team.

THERE WILL BE SPACE ON THE GRID FOR THOSE WHO CAN ONLY ATTEND SOME RACES. gORAN WILL HAVE THE OPTION OF MAKING UP HIS TEAM WITH A GUEST DRIVER EACH WEEK FROM THOSE "PART TIMERS" WHO JOIN CHAT BEFORE THE RACE.

ALL OTHER PART TIMERS WILL BE ABLE TO RACE IN THE "WHITE" OR "BLACK" TEAMS WHICH AN ANONYMOUS BENEFACTOR HAS KINDLY PROMISED TO EQUIP WITH 3 CARS EACH.  DETAILS TO FOLLOW

Also, we have a problem in our team. How are we supposed to know in advance who our 3rd drivers is going to be so we can judge how many coins to spend on cars? We really need a full time driver or it's going to be a shot in the dark for us Oranges...

YES Hristo, the 3 cars that have been purchased are your TEAM cars for the whole season, but they can be swapped around between the 3 drivers to extract the best results on different circuits.

We just need the Blue and Red teams to show us their shiny new cars.

Managers need not publish their driver/car pairings for any race until 6 p.m Friday UK time. that is 3 hours before we start practice. Team managers can of course, inform their drivers which car they will be driving as early as they wish, but once the race pairings are published they cannot be changed ( otherwise I will never keep up with all the alterations!!! )

That will give me time to enter the correct pairings in my " super GT spreadsheet" for each race.

Qualification to start at 9:00p.m. for 20 mins
Race lengths as posted above ( subject to being able to beat the server into granting us those exact laps   )

If Natan is available to drive every Friday evening he could join Goran's team, but Natan would certainly have a higher value than 5 tokens?!! I would place him at about 15? so, it depends if Goran can afford to recruit him.

If you wish to race anyway on a Friday Natan there will be two teams ( Black and White) with space for 3 drivers each available for those who want to race but do not have a permanent team. The Black and the White team will have cars already allocated and drivers will have to agree who is driving which car from those available.

Clive,
I would like to race in this team serie. I have an English course on Friday eves and I usually I'm back home at 8.30pm GMT so I have little time for dinner before the start of qualy.

On the server side, I see that Igor list is back so I have already started Igor in Listening mode on the Console session with GPL set on Opengl V2 and Silverstone set to 35laps Int Long (116 GP).

Thanks Fulvio for setting up the server.

There is space for another 2 teams of 3 drivers to join in these races.
 Natan Veksler has already asked if he can race, so if  we could get another 2 drivers to join we could complete Goran's team and form another new 3 car team.

There is not much time before Friday's race, but if anyone else wants to put their names forward I'm sure we can form another full time team.

There will be spaces for drivers who can only race in some of the events. I have set up a Ghost team with 3 cars that will be used by those who are in chat early enough to claim a place.
I will try and post more details later today,  my business is demanding my attention right now
