No cut off as far as I am concerned. Because the race ends on the lap that the leader takes the chequered flag you would have to complete the lap that you are on. But 2 things to be aware of I think in the interests of fair play and fun. 1) If you are going to limp around you will have to make sure that you do not impede other cars. That is not so easy as it sounds, and if we end up with 5 crippled cars causing mayhem I may introduce something nasty like a "rule" saying that you have to be able to lap at 110% of your average laptime. Which would involve me in even more modding!! and we don't want that do we?? 2) Sitting by the S/F line wont work, because GPL will disconnect you if your car remains stationary for about 20 secs. Something we had to deal with in the good 'ol days of Pitstops. And if we end up with a queue of cars by the S/F line that would be silly, wouldn't it?? You'd be amazed what I'd do for a point Seriously I wondered what would happen if you were driveable but not competitive (mmm wonder how that feels?) and could get round - say lost a gear or two. I once lost a wheel two corners from the end but finished! I wasn't serious about the S/F line btw. Sorry about the collision - haven't reviewed it yet but I have given myself a good talking to!

On the subject of finishing is there a cut off where you don't score - for instance, if you crash 15 laps from the end and you lose a wheel - you might limp round three laps or even wait by the S/F line - not in the spirit, I know but is there a specific exclusion point - might make it worth limping round if only three laps to go etc etc. Hope the next Orange guest driver is rubbish and H can't make it again You raise an interesting point I think, particularly if you are close to the finish anyway (not sure about the 15 laps from the end bit!). I don't claim to know the rules word for word, far from it, but I am not aware of anything that stops you driving without all four wheels. I'm sure in the real world you would soon attract a black flag under under some sort of 'dangerous driving' or 'technical' infringement. It's not exactly covered by: # Drivers are strongly discouraged from using traction or braking help as this severely compromises the car's performance and introduces a performance gap to unassisted cars which is both hazardous and not in keeping with UKGPL's aim of close racing. ...but it kind of covers it from a performance point of view. Perhaps this one comes down to common sense, but certainly worth raising. I'm sure one of our guru mods will be along shortly to clarify it all EDIT: I see Clive got there already ; he's even too damn fast on here, let alone on track!

lol Steve. I am just trying to ensure that these GT's require the very MINIMUM of modding and rules. I am keeping it simple, so that stoopid me can cope with it

lol Fulvio, Despite some reservations that the Porsche would be a sitting duck around Silvy, I notice that one crept into the top few places??!! It will be interesting to see how things work out in the rest of the races.
Providing Hristo and Pod keep away, the rest of the works drivers carve each other up, and the muscle cars are forced to fit mirrors they can see with (extra weight might slow them down a bit on the straights). Then maybe the Porsche, in capable hands, will be in with a chance of racing at the sharp end. But none of that is likely to happen and I hope and fully expect Hristo and my Captain to be back at the next race. I think this trial series is all the better for the spread of cars from Ferrari to Porsche and it will be fun seeing the results particularly at Reims and Monza.

Race series:-
Silverstone 21st Jan............35 LAPS Mexico 28th Jan............30 LAPS Reims 4th Feb.............25 LAPS Rouen 11the Feb..........25 LAPS Monza 18th Feb............45 LAPS ( ENDURANCE FINALERace series:-
These races will be approx 40 minutes long with 20 mins qually to try and keep all sides happy.
After yesterdays race I'd just like to ask whose lap times you based these "40 minute" races on? ET? 30 Laps at Mexico is going to take me the thick part of an hour (hopefully). If anyone is lapping at 1:20 I want lessons from them!

Nobody said I was totally honest. edit.... Actually my Maths is not so bad as the race lengths were a total guess based upon very little data regarding the laptimes of these cars. The races should start 10 mins earlier than usual ( because of 20mins qually) so will still finish at a civilised hour. With the race leaders likely to be lapping sub 1:50 the race should only last 55mins max. Which means that everyone's race will finish on that same lap. A very sneaky slower driver could do some clever calculations and decide that he might therefore only complete 25 laps in the same time period and opt for a lower fuel level? But then he might be quicker and not get lapped so often.....hehehehehe! Tricky isn't it??

I have to confess that I rather hoped that there would be a good mix of cars for this. Unless of course your name is Nicky and you get too damned smart lol

First, I am sorry about the delay, it was due to a mix of GT mod, server stunts and some lack of knowledge on my part. Thanks Fulvio.
As for the race, thanks Fulvio again, and when Alastair as well as my self also finished the race we in the Orange team now have a healthy lead, which by the way we will hold on to for the rest of the season. I hope you had a nice time too H and welcome you back for the Mexico race.
From a 3rd position on the grid I was in 4Th, thinking about what strategy I would use when the Lola engine on the second lap gave up. After the reset and the S&G I found myself in 13Th position. Humm, if the engine was so fragile and it was 32 laps left, well, let`s say I did not push that much, keeping one eye on the engine temp and the other on the revmeter I was more or less hoping for the rest of you to go and mess up. But most of you did really drive well and it is not that easy to pass a slower driver when you do not trust your engine. Blito comes to mind as a good example of this, I was the white Lola he was talking about.
But the race went on and the Lola kept going and slowly I managed to better my position bit by bit until at the end I was at the back of Nicky in 6Th position. So, maybe the Lola could stand a last lap attempt to get by. I am happy to say that it did. I had to use some grass but I was lucky and Nicky was aware about me too so nothing bad happend and I got my 5Th position. But I must confess that it really was quite stupid to take that big a risk for only one point and maybe loosing 16 but after all I am a racer and had been taking it slow and easy all the way so.............................
Thanks Evil for the concept and grats to the podium guys, and all finishers with a little special grats to Ray for putting the Porsche on the podium.
See you all in Mexico where the sun is shining, internet connections and servers work beautifully, and the Orange team once again will lead the way.
Göran

Are we going to have the full race results posted or at least uploaded somewhere? I'd like to see the GPLRA export and make some observations of the competition.

Team results for those who finished the race and scored points I have checked my replay and did not find anyone who failed to perform a SnG except for Natan, who forgot to fuel his car for the race and made multiple resets.
Ronnie appears to have a cloaking device fitted to his Porsche, as it failed to show on radar for many laps.
