Grats to Tris and the podium.
I knew that this track offered some chance for the lower powered cars and obviously one or two others were thinking the same thing.
I managed to extract some good times from the old Porker, but it did require the slipstream from a bigger car to make it work. The downside was that I was running a very high 1st gear, which made getting off the line a real problem and that scuppered my start.
I knew that my race depended upon getting a tow from the bigger cars, and perhaps I was trying too hard in the first few laps
to get on their tails.
Inevitably I pushed 20mtrs too deep into T1 and ran wide, I also clipped a wall and somewhere my car lost 10mph off top speed
. For a couple of laps I was almost joining the battle between Tim and Phil but even when I was within slipstream range I was losing ground because of the damage. slowly I fell farther behind and ended up simply lapping the track around 4 secs off my expected race pace until the flag.
Grats to all finishers, this series could be fun as the car choices work out.
