You beat me to it Hristo!

I'm ok with your suggestion, we just need some volunteers to try the "Fundoshi of Fame" for size.  Grin

They have to be crazy not to volunteer!  Roll Eyes First come first served, so get in line now!  Grin

I don't know who of them voted in this thread
If you go to the series details (eg this one) it will show you who has signed up once they have been processed. It also shows a split by full time and part time.

Goran has PM'd me as he wants to use Pedro who was not on my list of drivers and he didn't know how many points he was, so Goran's team is

G Jonsson
Pedro
il_lupo_mannaro

Which makes 6 teams now entered.

teams may still enter and drivers may still register but we have a full grid for server 1.

I guess if we get 6 more teams or maybe even 4 we could run 2 championships with an end of season race off with the top 2 teams in each championship racing each other for the winners medals.

Thoughts?

Will these Porsche's be subject to standing starts, or rolling starts?

Hristo, I'm not in any team for this as yet and would gladly race under the Hiki-Waza banner for one season.

I'm not convinced that the single file start is much safer but we'll see how that goes in GTs and though I've never done a rolling start, I'm not convinced by them either.

I like the way GPFun start their races by slowly getting up to speed from a standing start with no overtaking, and having a designated point on the track as being under green conditions, but I was going to stick with a loose grid start as per 65s etc.

I have chosen tracks which are quite wide and have opportunity for good and safe passing in GTs so hopefully incidents will be kept to a minimum, but we are racing under Pro rules, and people will learn fast what happens if you crash under Pro rules.

Even if a driver or 2 crashes out the team can still have a good race so over the 10 races things should be evened out, especially as lap 1 is fully moderated.

Driver 1 - Amateur/Pro? - Juha Hallikainen

I have added Juha and Pedro to the list as I missed them off.

I am not yet on this list too!?

Sure, Jason! And I just saw Nige has not signed up for these series yet, so I'll make the following correction:

Hiki-Waza Team #1
1. Hristo
2. Blito
3. -vacant seat-

In case Nige joins, it's up to him whether to join team 1 or 2. That means we have 2 seats vacant ATM, but Nige has priority if he chooses to sign up. Hope he decides soon.

Also, question: do we have to invite Blito to the team in the SROU system or is it irrelevant for these series? Not sure how you're going to split up already established team to 3 drivers teams. Do we have to make separate new ones?

As for the starts, I'm against a no-overtaking rule. If I get a better start or someone in front has a bad start, I won't slow down and wait behind them. It's much less safe than going around the car while keeping your normal acceleration, for those behind might be caught by surprise and rearend you. Not to mention it goes against my idea of racing, because it prevents you to make up places when a chance occurs.

I think rolling starts work very well, as long as everyone is conscious of what they're doing and what the others around them are doing on the warm up lap. There should not be any tension like we saw in some of the rolling start attempts, with people going too close to the back of others, or hitting those on their side like they're fighting for position. One big plus of roolling start is helping cars with 3 gears to not bog down completely and thus cause a blockage of the road, often leading to incidents.

Besides there are no 3 gear cars in Porsche Cup, I fully agree!

As single file starts are deemed necessary, this series would seem suitable for beginners.

Don't invite him into the Waza team, it is possible for drivers to be in 2 teams, so the existing SROU team and a new one for this cup. I will confirm the details of that and may set the teams up myself, but it will not affect our current SROU teams.

It also has to work around the other GT Series so don't do anything until I've confirmed the team setup. You can of course continue to organise the team members without creating the actual teams.
