A very nice track once you get to know where you can push, and where to be careful. For what it is worth Paul, I started at around 1:57 laps and it took me an hour to realise that I was accelerating too soon out of some corners and backing off in the Esses before the start line when they can be taken flat in 4th. My PB came down to a 1:49 during the race
Another fantasy track to add to my list
I thought that my Lola BMW would suffer against those fast FVA's and I was right. Mark and Tristan were uber quick and I could not get anywhere near their qually times or their fastest race laps. Impressive speed guys .
My race pace was quite good although I was using a very high 1st gear ratio that lost me a place off the start, it came in very useful at T1 for the rest of the race
where I found that I was braking later than just about everyone....sorry again to David for spinning him around.
I soon hooked myself onto the tail end of the leading group and was content to follow for a while. But after the leaders caused some mayhem at T4 on the second lap, I was forced to go onto the grass and dropped back to about 8th place I think. I then rejoined behind Alex, and we had a great battle for the rest of the race as we disputed 3rd place.
I thought I had a chance when I passed him with 2 laps to go but missed a gear change on one of the downhill sweeping bends and ran wide allowing Alex, David and Jura through.....3rd to 6th and no time to recover!!!! argghhh!
Great racing and a lovely track Ed.
