That spot gets my vote as well. I'm pretty sure Joe would have been soaring pretty high as usual

Sure I did not know Joe. Only read here in this forum about that young man. Makes me really sad... The idea to place some of his ashes at the side of the track I really like. Did not know that something like that is allowed in Britain. Sadly in Germany it is "verboten". But you mean for sure the Nordschleife, or? Because Nürburgring is only the Modern Track. My suggestion is Fuchsröhre, it is also challenging and exciting as well! A place where only the best keep it flat out and where it divides the man from the boys.
Please tell your choice here after your vote for the place, because in the summer I will be driving around the Nordschleife and will greet him when I pass that place.
Best regards
Andreas

Just returned from Goodwood after spending a weekend with Bill ( no-brakes) and Andy ( we had the pleasure of Tim Vos's company on Friday as well). Total immersion in classic car racing and Castrol R Good weather great racing and in the company of like minded petrol heads made it a terrific weekend. The late night discussions in our caravan over GPL, and anything else you care to think about, made absolute sense at the time but in the cold light of dawn one wonders if the empty cans and bottles lined up in the kitchen had any influence upon rational thought?? There was a lot of reference to biscuits and men but opinion was divided 50/50....... Andy might be able to explain. We met up with Malcolm and Beverly and shared some beer when Andy had to have the prestigious Joe Shaw Trophy prised from his grasp. Unfortunately Robert Fleurke could not be there to take custody of the trophy, so we had a fight for it! After 15 seconds of blood and carnage, it was agreed that Malcolm will be custodian of it ( he might be in touch with Robert about the options). pics to follow.

The weather at Goodwood was warm and sunny throughout. We saw just about every race on track and wandered around the (outside of the) paddocks and even around the amazing array of cars in the car park. It was really good to spend an hour or so chatting to Malcolm Shaw. We didn't suffer from much queueing to get in or out or even at the burger vans. The caravan did its job. If the weather had been bad it would have been a lifesaver. We even managed some very basic cooking there. It was great to sit back with a full stomach and have long evenings of beery chat. It does seem that 3 per caravan is the optimium number. The key seems to be to commit very early and book up and also to have a little preparation to be able to contend with whatever happens. Thanks to Clive for organising this. It was a very successful and enjoyable long weekend.
It was clear from watching the Glover Trophy race that The BT7 is the best car in the 65's. It drove away from the Ferrari 1512's and the BRM P261 and even lapped the BT11.

You heard the man - I expect to see a grid bursting with BT7 machinery later tonight...!
