Should we keep the rule that requires a driver to complete 50% race distance in order to score championship points?  Please vote carefully, if you don't like the 50% rule then vote No.

The for and against discussion has been made before.  This rule has marked the end of new drivers, hoping to start their Online careers with us.  Ukgpl survival will require drivers to join from other leagues.

Very true. In addition for me it kills any serious interest in putting in any time into practice and preparation for competing for series wins. I fear we are in a minority and the poll will go against us and this horrendous rule will remain. As for improving driver standards, having my race ended, again, in a lap one incident in the last race I ran I remain sceptical.

This is a fallacy. Same could be said about the 0% rule. Personally I will reconsider my commitment to UKGPL as a driver, if such a 0% rule is reinstated. It has nothing to with F1 simulation racing.

I question someone's motivation if they want free points for the championship table. Arguably I would have won the Works championship with a 0% rule (as Tommie missed races), and still am against it for rational reasons. For instance, Andy would have been way lower in the rankings.

It's good to see the 50% rule works well, and awards consistency and finishing, as it did with Tommie and Andy.

But not if 1 re set was allowed as in the Ams series which is surely where any newcomers would begin  Grin

The poll is pretty close so if you haven't voted please do so.  If you have been persuaded by some of the arguments presented on this thread you should be able to change your vote (I selected that option when I set up the poll).

Just in case there is any confusion, if you like the 50% rule but would like it increased (or decreased) you should vote yes to keep the rule.  The percentage could be adjusted at a later date (possibly in response to another poll).  It is the principle of having a % cutoff that the moderators wanted the drivers to vote on, not the value of the %.  Sorry if this has led to any misunderstandings, it is quite hard to setup a poll that isn't biased on any way.  I've tried to phrase the question as simply as possible, hopefully the answer will reflect the true opinion of the drivers.

I agree 100% with Rob. The 50% rule didn't deter me from joining the league in the slightest. I'm under the impression that when I joined, the 50% rule had only been recently implemented.
