Timed out opening communications channel

Hi! Im new here (not sure if i had participated at UKGPL before, however i played GPL in 2010-2012 aprroximately), looking for some racing. When connecting to the UKGPL server via IGOR i have this message: Timed out opening communications channel.


I have installed GPL by Easy Install Guide, all patches, including bandwith, 60fpsv2. Set IP igor.gplrank.info in IGOR.ini

Im running under Win 7 (starting with admin rights to file), no antivirus or firewall, the connection via 4G cell phone (no problem in other games). Never run GPL on this PC before.

Please, any suggestions?

1. Yes, all combinations work fine.
2. I tried... Same result.

Unfortunately not.
Also, i cant connect to other open (non-UKGPL) server.

I remember when i was installing GPL for a first time in my life i had same error, and somebody sent me either core.ini or other .ini file and it started to work.

Do not change core.ini, as iGOR sets server to override the clients settings!

Also, i cant connect to other open (non-UKGPL) server.

In that case, as you cannot connect to any server - could you have a firewall/security sofware whch is preventing the outbound connections from the GPL executable files (gpl.exe/gplc67.exe/gple68.exe etc) to the Internet?

As you can't connect elsewhere, this may not make any difference, but...
Have set UKGPL_12 running,  but without the max ping value configured.

Maybe see if that helps.

Thank you. No result. No single server is working for me. Something wrong with game files...

As GPL works offline -  the connection via 4G cell phone may be a problem for this old game.
