Late to the party, sorry, and I'm sure you don't want to repeat all your many posts.
But I have a G29 and so do a few people. Dimitar does, and it works fine for us?
Only thing I can remember that causes issues is the switch/button for use with consoles
Perhaps that is only G923?

So I decided to give up, this story really tired me out. It almost drove me crazy!
Good luck to everyone
Sorry you are still having problems Philippe. Unless there is something specific about your G29 it should work, other people have managed to get them working with Windows 10. Matt is a case in point. Perhaps after a few days relaxing in the sunshine you might feel like trying again. The weather here in the UK has been awful recently, very cold and very wet.

I obviously did tests with the PS3 and PS4 button.
The steering wheel is well recognized in drivers.
I can calibrate it without problems.
I have to install G hub to make it work.
When starting the PC, the steering wheel works from time to time, online or offline. I can drive without problems.
As soon as I restart the PC, nothing works anymore.

Sorry if I'm repeating things you have tried but I've had similar issues if I plug my wheel (Thrustmaster) into a USB3 port (the blue ones). GPL doesn't like it.

Are you plugged into a USB1 (i.e. black) port?

GHub is a Logitech thing so I'm not familiar with it. Is there any way to avoid using it or are you limited by the number of ports on your PC?

I don't know "G Hub" I have done nothing at all, no extra software. Only issue was the PS buttons.
Sounds like you have done everything. No point in me suggesting things you
have already done 3 times.
I did install latest Logitec drivers, maybe try older ones?
I had used G25 and G27 previously.

one thing that fixed the G29 that I thought was dead, that I didn't believe until I tried it
was:

"Disconnect the wheel from the PC/game console and power outlet.
Disconnect the pedals, power adapter and shifter from the wheel.
Wait for 10-15 seconds. Reconnect the pedals, power adapter and shifter to the wheel."

Sounds too simple, but the G29 came back to life.....

There seems to be lots of potential problems with this in Win10
Lots of "security" features that get in the way.
Forgive me for repeating things, but does it work in other Sims?

Be a shame to lose a good pilot because of annoying wheel issues

And, Phil is right about the port types

thank you friends, don't apologize, if you repeat things, it doesn't matter.
Yes, my steering wheel is plugged into the "black" ports, not the blue ones.
I have assetto corsa installed, but I haven't tested it. I spent a lot of time with GPL to get to the championship.
Previously I had the LGS510 as a profiler installed, since I had a G27.
Switching to G29, as it didn't work, I uninstalled the profiler.
Windows does not recognize the G29 in devices UNLESS I install G hub.
Many people say a lot of bad things about G hub.
At home, impossible to operate the steering wheel without installing G hub.
If you read my posts carefully, what seems strange to me is the fact that GPL sometimes works with the G29.
This is why I am convinced, despite my many computer skills shortcomings, that the problem comes from Windows.

I run a G29 on win 10/11 with GHub . It works OK sort of , but nowhere near as good as my old G25 did . I gave up trying to tweek it . Ghub is a personal health hazard imo  Roll Eyes  I have GPL installed on SSD using Linux but had to give it up because it was practically unusable .

So sorry to hear of your probs Phillipe. I used to have a G25 and that worked fine until it broke the encoder wheel. So I bought a new G29, but I could not get it to work with GPL so I returned it for a refund of my money. Then I read that others have had similar problems with GPL and the G29 wheel???!! So maybe there is a problem with Win10/GPL/ and G29???

Is there anyone reading this who had Win10 and a G29 running properly with GPL??

I am. No problems at all here, I also use PS4 option and GHub. I guess the problem is with the calibration in game though, not on windows. Also, he can try the wheel with another game. Just to be sure it is working properly. Also, he needs to press the pedals as well, so GPL will detect them. Just like the wheel.

the calibration of the G29 is correct with windows.
With G hub, the steering wheel is well detected.
When I enter GPL, I go to "options", and there, the "axis 0" steering wheel is not detected. GPL does not recognize it.
I restart several times, and "from time to time" it recognizes it.
This is what disturbs me. It's not like it doesn't work at all.

I know windows keeps a history of what USB devices have been connected to the PC and it uses this information to assign drivers etc next time the device is plugged in. Perhaps there is something in the history that is causing problems.

I wouldn't recommend editing the windows registry unless you really know what you are doing. But perhaps a free tool like USBDeview might be worth a try.

Unplug all USB devices except the mouse and keyboard and delete the USB history. The next time you plug in the G29 it will effectively be recognised for the first time.

On my GPL options, steering is axis 0  on the first page,  my pedals are axes 8/9/10 on the 3rd page.

Maybe try running joy.cpl to launch 'Setup USB Game Controllers'
Then click "Advanced" and under "Select the device you want to use with older programs" select your wheel.

I don't know if this is of any use or what exactly this does,  but presumably will set that device to start from axis 0.
If so, you would likely need to recalibtrate for all your GPL mods.
Presumably your shift paddles would be moved to lower buttons too.

Then I guess you are back looking at the H-shifter...

Thank you all for your help.
I'll do what you say, phil. But I didn't understand everything about that. Do I have to download USBdeview to delete USB history? or is it possible to do it via windows?
I never took this.
Dave, I'm going to check my settings based on what you tell me.

I really thank you very much. Fingers crossed !
I hope it'll work

Yes you have to download USBDeview in order to use it. I've not tried it but I've had problems with USB devices that stopped working in a specific port. Plugging into a different port was no problem. I've not tried USBDeview so I can't confirm that it is OK but it might bo worth a try if Dave's suggestion doesn't help.
