That was dissapointing.

Had a minor off scrubbing a wall, and had to wait for the pack to pass
but then Paul was warping like crazy just in front, maybe.. he wasn't there, I tried to keep left
in case he re-materialised, but then he did, and we occupied the same space and time I flew off
and the engine was in limp home mode after that, so quit

At a certain point Reinier was not visible in my mirror,he was on my rear flank and end my race loosing one wheel.
Aniway ,i'm sorry, but this track don't like me in comparison with the 1971 version.

Yeah Paul was activating his 'invisibility cloak' at the start, luckily I pulled right to avoid and got lucky when he re-materialised.  lol
Was steadily gaining places until I got clipped from behind and overturned.....second time I've been on my head this season  Sad

I qualified 5th in the Coooper so was feeling pretty good about things. However, when the starter's flag fell, the latency bar spiked, everybody around me disappeared, and I hit the Esc button as fast as I could. I hope I didn't cause somebody else any pain.

Crappy set up which got worse as the race progressed and fuel lightened , not quite shopping trolley performance but not far off . struggled through to the end, I seemed to spend most of the time being lapped by the pro's .

Decided the Honda just doesn't like my style  Roll Eyes

Wow.. the latency issue was dreadful tonight.

I never realised that I had even collided with Matt at all.

I did though realise I took Cubbie out I think. but I felt nothing at all, just was trying to stay away from all the cars that were constantly disappearing then reappearing.

I actually felt a kick in the steering wheel and nobody was there, but almost instantly a car appeared in my mirrors going ass over tits behind me.  that I think was Cubby.

sorry Mate. I had another embarassing isse in the recent 50s race, that was my fault then, this was the same.  If it deserves a penalty so be it.

but how can you tell who is causing the warp problems.  from my cockpit all seemed really stable. track was as solid as a rock at 60fps . my FFB felt good too so did the car.

so is it a Server problem or just a bad connection. wondering if its just one of us or more cars. ??

Sorry Frencesco, we were side by side, you went right on my car and I had no space to go !
sorry it ended your race, I was more lucky and everything was OK for my Cooper except I lost several seconds.

When I connected, I had very low fps (between 20 and 25) and I had to reduce the number of several objects around the track to have decent fps.

I'm at the same location as the server. I'm not saying it was't here, but from my driver point of view - most of the cars around me looked stable.

On the grid, Peter seemed to be more not there than actually there & then disappeared completely for the start.

Whilst I was catching up with Paul,  he was disappearing for seconds at a time.  I aimed to be on the other side of the track, but guess he went off at Dr Tiroch Kurve.  I didn't actually see him on or off track, but heard him as I passed the area.

I was certainly able to perform some close running with Matt/DaveR/Billy/Pepe/others for some time;  hopefully I was mostly stable too.

The pre-race Q session was the first drive here today.  Somehow, it seemed to come together & I was able to string 9 laps together for approx. a 1.7 second improvement.  The event was much more interesting than expected.
Couple of spins put me back,  but seems there were then a lot of issues/retirements ahead.
Somehow got lucky when I was following Billy as he reached Bernie to lap him.  Not entirely sure what happened, but found myself unexpectedly passing them both.

Despite following Pepe, he was not going to make any major mistakes in the last few laps.

Cheers all.
Dave.

No worries mate.  I suppose track/fps will always seem fine to the local driver, it's the 'server-side' driver info feeding back that will always look wrong.  If it's just one car (from your POV) that's warping, it's probably him......if lots of cars are warping, it's probably you.  Or maybe there was also something about the track build, which accentuated the latency issue.

Online practice during the week told me that I'd be two or three seconds slower than the fast guys, so I didn't spend a lot of time trying to improve my speed. Zeltweg is a notoriously difficult track, despite having few turns, and in such cases I have but one principle: Stay between the ditches and let attrition do its magical work.

In qualifying I had a PB that put me eighth --- 8th, I say, with a PB --- on the grid. I knew this was going to be difficult, but I didn't think it would be harder than trigonometry. I made things even more difficult for myself with an unbelievably terrible start, losing two places before I'd even reached the S/F line. Still by the start of L4 I'd managed to creep up to 6th. Fabio, in front of me, went wide at Hella, hit the fence, and spun back on the track. I just nicked him unavoidably and spun, and also hit Walter behind me and putting him out of the race. The damage with the contact and smacking the fence didn't seem to have done anything to the Brabham. I continued, now in 5th.

On L7 Ruy spun exiting Hella. I overtook him, followed by Billy. And there we remained, Billy and I, in a delicate courtship that lasted until the back straight on L23 when we caught up to Bernie at the back of the pack. I got by easily, but Billy and Dave, immediately behind me, somehow switched positions. I never even realized that Dave had overtaken Billy in the process of overtaking Bernie, but it really didn't matter. I'd had Billy climbing up my tail pipe for what seemed like a week. The only thing Dave did differently was get even closer to my rear end.

With Eric's retirement on the last lap, leading the race with only four turns to go, I slunk into third and still managed to hold Dave off by less than half a second. I'd gained five places and hadn't overtaken a single car in a contested pass. Remember what I said about attrition? Yeah, it really is magic.

The last time that i have seen your car you seemed quite far, than i was slowed by the 2 in front so i coud not immagine your position and i have maintained my usual trajectory. If not toward right the risk is to go on th poles.

With having to wait after my barrier contact, I saw most of the grid, and only one car was warping/invisible to me
The leaders were solid, Dave C was in my mirrors. and was solid.

Good race for me. Started P10 & finished P5. There were several incidents early on which promoted me to 5th & just behind Pepe in 4th. Front 3 were long gone. I tracked Pepe for lap after lap, speeds were very closely matched so my only chance to pass would be a mistake. Pepe was very stubborn about not making mistakes. in the last few laps we were caught by Dave C & David R. I made a wrong decision about passing Bernie & ran out of track so Dave C nipped through on the inside. Had to concentrate on the last few laps to keep Rainiers very fast Cooper behind.
No issues with lag for me.
No complaints about the track other than the posts although they aren’t an issue if you keep to the tarmac. To be honest, no real preference between the 70 or the 71 versions.

Followed Paul for some early laps and you were warping bad , no probs with any other contenders though I didn't see many except all the lappers who were all very kind to me and a pleasure to "race"  with .

Liking the track mods but not thoses poles which were starting to make me go dizzy after about 1/2 distance , possibly some kind of "strobe effect "
